  1. Thanks allI agree, I think that the best way forward is to send a SAR, and from your valuable advice I will do this to GE rather than to AK.Then I can think how best to take forward with AK.Much appreciated.
  2. Hello, I am after a bit of advice please. I have a debt that is in dispute, and has been in dispute for what is now approaching 6 years. This debt relates to store credit originally with G E Capital, but debt appears to now be in the name of Aktiv Kapital. I am unaware the I ever received a notice of sale / transfer of this disputed debt to Aktiv Kapital (AK) According to the date of the disputed agreement with G E Capital of April 2007, by my calculations this debt would have defaulted around August 2007. This would tie in with the date registered as a 'start date' on my credit report with AK - i.e.. debt defaulted around August 2007, and was passed to AK (though I have no knowledge of this) around that time, and AK have registered a start date of September 2007.) So, my first need for advice is, can an original creditor pass a disputed debt onto a debt collector before registering a default? And if they can't, then surely the default date should stay the same if the debt is sold?) AK have however, according to my credit report, registered a default date of October 2008, one year and one month since their registered start date and since when I would expect the default date to be.) Other than standard letters of dispute, there has been no contact made by me or payments towards this disputed debt, since August 2007. As such, I believe that this debt should be fast approaching being statute barred.) So, my second need for advice is, if I want to challenge the dates (start date and default date) registered to my credit report by AK, will making contact with them do anything to harm the position I should now be in with regards being statute barred? And if not, does anyone have any advice please on how best to challenge the data AK have registered on my credit report with regards this disputed debt.) I am anticipating that if I can successfully challenge the dates that AK have registered to my credit report, and that the default date should in fact be August 2007, then this disputed debt will fall off my credit report soon, and will also be statute barred.) All and any advcie is very gratefully received.
