1. Settled for £300... Bet the overdraft was only £100 and the rest was bank charges. Silly move IMO.
2. Normally I suggest using debt collector letters for emergency toilet paper or lining the bottom of bird cages, but in this instance it's different.. You have made several errors here.. One is you have made contact with a DCA who will now hound you with letters and phone calls until you give in. But also now they have your upto date contact details (along with other details they got out of you 'for security') they could send the file back to the 3rd party insurance company who could refer it to the police for for leaving the scene of an accident (job interview or not) and having no insurance. You crashed your uninsured car into someones parked car and dont see why you should reimburse their insurance company? If someone who was uninsured crashed into my car and drove off, I would want my insurance company to recover the FULL costs, plus my excess and any incresed premiums for the last three years if they tracked down the 3rd party.
3. I've had this issue with HSBC/1StCrud for years for someone who lived at my house before me, many, many years ago.
4. Been dealing with a few folk who have had door step visits from MoorCrap recently. all the debts are pretty hefty amounts, ie over £3000.
5. But the fact they advertised it as having Sat nav and being 170bhp should mean something?
6. Sounds like Ken Dodd's Dad's dog is dead... It's nowt to do with the finance company who is on the insurance.
7. You could keep them taking for as long as possible and waste as much time as you can.. then write a cheque with [removed] in the payee section and sign it "Micky Mouse" a bit like Victor Meldrew did with the computer salesman that went to his house...
8. Recieved this letter last week from Leeds Losers. Bit naughty making it to look like a council tax letter..
9. As above, it will say in the T&C's somewhere. However, if a company buys your debt, you could send them this: Dear PERSONS, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for interesting yourselves in my financial affairs. It has been brought to my attention that you paid an outstanding debt on my behalf to ( bank name) I cannot thank you enough for doing this as I was unable to do so myself. You have restored my faith in the goodwill of others and you sir are truly a goodSamaritan. If I may be so bold as to mention, I do have some other outstanding financial matters that you may wish to take a look at and having spoken to some friends and family they too would like you to look into their financial affairs. I believe that the sum (bank name) accepted from you as payment of the debt was around £20.00, well done to you sir for managing to reach such an amazing dealwith the bank. I had tried in vain to get them to accept that amount from mebut to no avail, you sir have clearly mastered the art of negotiation. I have already written to the queen asking that you be considered for an award for services of charity to the people, I do hope it is acted upon. Yours most thankfully,
10. This sounds about right for Lloyds to be honest!
11. Shouldn't the debt has dissapeared when Comet went bust? Or should it have been the Administrators contacting the OP?
12. Use their letter to light the fire in your living room for a cosy Christmas morning feel.
13. Just sending a removal of implied access letter to Moorshat after they turned up today at friends house. Luckily I was there and they got send packing after I laughed at the pathetic drip of a rep. Not sent a Removal of Rights letter for years. Are there any updated bits apart from the OFT bit?
14. If anyone turns up, just laugh at them. Lots. Even better to keep them waiting at the door if its raining..
15. Just ignore them. They will soon go away and pass it onto the next goon, who can also be ignored.
16. 3 letters all dated the same day in seperate envelopes.. First letter: "Thank you for your recent communication in which you made and offer of repayment... etc" Second letter: "Further to your recent request, please use the attatched barcode to make payments at PayPoint.." - yet no barcode on letter lol. Third letter: "Please find enclosed DD form to set up for your payments.." Wrote back to them asking for copy of the communication I sent them..
17. Well they've been told to naff off, via the post. so will see what they come back with.. CK Headache once sent me a similar letter along with a payment card! So I returned it, but for security reasons I put the card thru my shredder first..
18. Had a letter recently from WetCloth/WetScroat thanking me for my offer of repayment.. Can't see anywhere on my laptop that I offered them anything. Last time I made an offer on this debt was to Uncle Bryan and it was for £1.25 per month for three months. That was 12 months ago and dearest Uncle Bryan never replied. How can one goon DCA accept and offer made to another goon DCA?
