  1. Hi, just had an offer of £226 against my claim for £435. Have obviously rejected their kind offer. Hoping to get it back for Christmas as I've already spent it, apart from the donation I intend to make. I am now fighting on behalf of my son-in-law who won't tell me how much he's been over charged for. Must be mega, can't wait. Good luck to everyone and keep at 'em.
  2. Me too. Sent 2nd letter, giving them 7 days to sort it out, after about 50 days and got statements after 72 days with letter of appology, at which stage I had already reported them to OFT. They have cashed my £10 cheque too. Good luck anyway, you'll get there in the end. Joyce.
  3. Thank you, I'm not very good at this but learning all the time. Again, THANK YOU! Joyce.
  4. Hi everybody, I have just received my statements, after 72 days, and found that I was charged £5 at the end of every month during 2001-2002, for about 18 months. It is defined as "charge as notified". Can I also claim these back? Does anyone else have these? They then stopped for about 18 months and then just one more appeared and none since so I don't know what they are. Thanks for any help. Joyce.
  5. Hi again, on receiving my statements I have found that I was charged £5 on the last day f every month as "charges as notified". I don't know what these charges were for but they were deducted from my account for over 18 months in 2001-2002, then they stopped and I had just 1 more in 2005. Does anyone know anything about these and can I claim them back too? Thanks in advance. Joyce.
  6. Hi everyone, got my statements yesterday, only took 72 days. Oh well better late than never. This all started when I incurred charges back in February, not the first time but the circumstances were different. My son had died and so I wrote to explain why I had gone over my o/d limit. They didn't want to know. Then I find out that they have no legal right to charge me in the first place. Time for action and I needed something to fight for. I'm on my way now and I won't give up on it. Hope everyone feels the same and lets all support this site, after all we probably wouldn't have known we can get our money back without it. Good luck everybody.
  7. Hi, I'm very new too, both to this site and the computer in general. Just sick of all these charges, then to find out the Halifax has been taking them illegally! Well that puts the cherry on the cake so to speak. I sent for my statements on 21st June and they cashed my cheque but I'm still waiting. Anyway it seems I've got a human interest story as my son died and my account went a bit haywire, I got no sympathy from the bank then and I don't need it now so I'm going for all the charges going way back. Not sure how much it will be but hey! Hope you get yours all back, if they've made an offer it just shows. Joyce.
  8. Hi Everyone, I found it hard to beleive that the banks would be able to conduct business in such a way. We are supposed to be able to trust such institutions, after all, we allow them to take care of our most valuable assets. Anyway, I probablly wouldn't have even bothered with claiming these fees back but for the fact that in February my son died and I let my account slip for a very small amount and a very short period. I was less than £10 short in my account but it ended up costing me £270 and the letter I sent to them at the time fell on deaf ears. Since then I have been charged 2 X £30 when I wasn't over my overdraft limit at all! The first one has been refunded, with no appology and no explaination and I'm still waiting for the outcome of the second one. I was once charged £30 because the direct debit came out of my account at 4.17 AM and I paid the money into my account at just after 9 that morning! Good luck everyone. It's been a long time coming but they've had it good for too long.
