  1. Mine did not (I was just relieved that ATOS actually contacted him to get extra information for my PIP medical which was last week (after a wait of 12 months). I mean you give all your doctors details on the form you fill in, assuming that they will contact them - so why would the doctor need to check if they can divulge your medical history.
  2. Why am I not surprised - they loath the idea of paying the sick anything. As soon as they win the election (and I pray they don't) this will be activated.
  3. I take it a lot of the existing staff will transfer over to the new regime (or face being unemployed) so the front line will not change all that much.
  4. You must keep asking for support, and help. MY doctor was/is very good he recommended me for counseling, you have to sort of the climb the ladder, until you get the help you need, but they assess you along the way which has been great for me. I have had two medicals with ATOS and I have to say they have both been fair with me, and I did not notice any trying to trick. The second medical I did think I would fail, but he left me in the WRAG group, which I later appealed with the help of my CPN. I know how you feel, but keep fighting, lots of good info on here, and lots of people been through it all, so you are not alone (although I know it seems like it as times). I wish you well, and fingers and toes all crossed for you.
  5. I am well on my way to saving up for a winter coat:)
  6. I am coming up to almost a year waiting for an assessment, and been told by ATOS that it could be a further 26 weeks or more.
  7. I went on my own (I had no choice) I was placed in the WRAG group, which then with the help of my CPN was altered to the support group. Just tell the truth. Good Luck.
  8. I have, I think this is only because I asked DWP what was happening (maybe)!! I applied last Nov, got offered a medical out of my County, one in which I could not get to - about 140 mile round trip. When I spoke to DWP they basically said there is not we can do - not much point in contacting MP as he is fully on board with all the benefit cuts and the likes, so figured it best not to even go there! Atos just take your details - they must have scores of people contacting them.
  9. I received a letter last week from Atos telling me that I will need a medical to discuss any entitlement I might be able to claim (fine). It has taken them almost 11 months to tell me that, but to add further delay they say it will be at least a further 26 weeks before I will be called for a medical.
  10. Is this what you mean. Those getting Income Support for being a lone parent will have to take part in work focused interviews at the Jobcentre if they have a youngest child aged 1 to 4. The time and duration will be tailored to the needs of the lone parent. Lone parents with a youngest child aged 3 or 4 will have to under take mandatory ‘work related activity’ “to better prepare them for the full work - related requirements they will face when their child turns five ” . This applies to those getting Income Support for being a lone parent or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA ) and in the Work Related group - but not the support group.
  11. You will not get the cost back until after the interview and they have checked with the company that you attended ( I know a few people who have had help with transport costs, but always had to wait until after). I believe they used to fund up front but sadly the system was abused.
  12. Have you got it in writing you will be reimbursed - or still only verbal.
  13. I have done similar, instead of paying £10 I added an extra 0. I rang/wrote to my bank along with the company I overpaid, explaining that it had left me in debt it got me know where. I contacted CAB and they said the same, the onus is on US and not to any outside company/person whatever. Only if the company take extra from your account without notifying you can you claim it back (depends if this falls into that category) I suspect not as a bank can take money from your account (if within the same ownership) to pay off money they are owed - that is why it is advisable not to have all your money in one account, look at opening a post office on line account.
  14. Sorry Atone my reply was badly worded - I meant to say if on ESA depending which group you are in, ESA has its own mandatory rules. Manicus have you had your medical yet for ESA or are you still waiting for that.
  15. What a dizzy amount 25p extra - cannot wait:)
  16. I thought you could get sanctioned on ESA unless in the support group.
  17. I know, its tough as it is. Put my date of birth into the calculator for state pension 2023 (if I live that long) and the posts have not moved again by then.
  18. The only reference to get your pension early (if you have a year or less to live) refers to private or workplace schemes. The Gov UK site specifically says you cannot claim your state pension early.
  19. I contacted the DWP and was told because I come under an area covered by ATOS there are long waiting lists - hence why I was offered a medical outside my own county as that was not ATOS (so I was told). I read somewhere that back in June of the 350.000 plus medicals waiting, less than 100.000 had been carried out nationwide. I will just have to wait.
  20. A friend who has had rheumatoid arthritis for over 20 years and can hardly walk these days had to undergo a medical from DLA to PIP. She was told they needed to update her records, and make an up-to-date assessment of her condition. The good news was, she is know claiming the higher rate, as her condition had deteriorated, and she had not informed them as she was afraid to (in her words) rock the boat.
  21. I applied for PIP last November. In July I had a call from ATOS offering me a medical at a centre over 70 miles away, so a round trip of over 150 miles. I explained I could not do this as I cannot get there, and I have been reading that not all transport costs ie taxis are being covered (not that I could travel that far alone with a stranger). The lady said she was sorry, and I would go back on the list. I have since been reading if you turn down an offer you go back to the bottom of the list or do not hear from them again. Apparently they seem to be making it difficult for people to attend, a, because they do not have the centres and staff, and b, in the hope you do not attend. Also if you ring them they tell you there is nothing they can do, and advise you just wait. Does anyone know if this is all true.
  22. Thanks for that. What WP uses mobiles anyway, they all have a phone on their desk, and she did not leave the number, the messages say 'ring this mobile' I neither have caller display or 1471 as it costs extra - so what number?
  23. My WP keeps calling me today and leaving messages for me to ring back on a mobile number!! A I will not ring mobiles and B I am in the support group. I know I do not have to participate, so can I just keep ignoring the calls, I have got nothing to say or update them with anyway.
  24. I never complained either, and that is why my health deteriorated. I'm not looking for a gold merit badge, or saying my illness or my drugs are far worse than anyone else, just an understanding that my GP and my CPN both think I am not well enough to work. I have been seeing these people month in month out, they know me - and they also know I am not someone who is looking for a 'way out' of the system, I am 57 and never claimed in my life up until a few years ago. I am not wanting to go down the road of trying to work out what you meaning/saying and why - - we are all different no one size fits all, and just because the person next to me might be cheating the system does not mean we are all the same.
