My car was burnt out at the weekend, the fire brigade said that initial inspection didnt show anything suspicious. I made a claim and was told the salvage yard would be collecting in a couple of days and an offer would be made, but provided me with a hire car in the meantime. I then had a call the following day to say that need to put my claim on hold so that they could send out a forensic inspector to see if he could determine the cause. At the same time my hire care would be cancelled until the inspector had been and also I had to have a face to face interview with someone from Aviva to take a statement. the forensic investigator came today and whilst he could not rule out an electrical fault, it would more than likely be arson. I still have not had a call about the interview and in the meantime,I am having to fork out for the hire car as I need to be mobile with the kids and university etc. I have searched the Aviva website to see where it says the hire car can be cancelled but I cannot find anything. Can anyone please advise??
