  1. Close your current account as this will be constantly attacked by the PDL companies and yes, unfortunately, you have given them permission(ish) to do this. Canceling the card is a good step but closing the account and setting up a new one is the safest option. As they say in other threads, a new bank is the ideal option. You are obviously in a bad situation (join the club) so don't make it worse by letting this happen. Protect your money, you need it! The forums can supply Wongas account details for you so you can set up a standing order to repay them. Hope you get sorted.
  2. I hate to say this but Wonga did not intentionally take your child benefit or anything, they just took what they could from your debit card. The fact that you only had your benefit payments in that account is the problem here.
  3. Hey dude, just keep email 'n 'em. I sent them one email for each text message (9 or so each day) eventually you will receive an reply saying that you only qualify for a repayment plan if you are (un)dead or whatever. Keep it up and then tell the CFA that you're having a bad time with them. Ask for the official complaints procedure. It'll get 'em talking at the very least!
  4. Thank you my friend. I will be back with news and stuff on Wednesday (12th). There is a reason...
  5. Just had a lovely chat with one of their reps. Apparently they don't understand it when we go on about our rights. Even though I didn't mention them. Still no plan though, no complaints procedure information either. Tomorrow we go for the big guns.
  6. Well, well, well. Payday Express have been in touch - by email Good work CFA, but... They have sent the email about only offering repayment plans to dead people and requesting my bank statements. I'm neither dead (or indeed undead), unemployed, etc, etc. I'm just horribly in debt. This means I don't qualify for a repayment plan. Don't worry. I don't believe a word of their email. Another go methinks...
  7. Hmm, I thought he might be talking out of his little perforation. I have now received 3 text messages from them. So I sent 3 emails back. They're still claiming they haven't heard from me! Not exactly the easiest bunch of people to deal with are they? EDIT: Sod it. Complained to the CFA "I am finding it hard to deal with Payday Express as they will not acknowledge my emails or respect my wish to keep all communications in writing. I feel that this is very obstructive and I find the constant messages stating that I have failed to contact them distressing. I have emailed them 8 times to try to negotiate a repayment plan and so far they have simply ignored me. Is this an acceptable practice?" Sit tight...
  8. What ho! I wonder about this lot. I've emailed them three times and received only the template reply they send out, so I answered the phone to them this morning. A right little shirty p***k was on the other end explaining that due to data protection blah blah they could not discuss account info via email. Or indeed via the postal service like my bank does... My question, having told him my communication preference and having the phone/headset slammed down with a huff , is whether we can still complain about non-communication if we don't take their calls?
