  1. Hopefully somebody can help but recently we had an issue with a managers behaviour at David Lloyd. We decided to cancel after a number of years being with but were told we had to do this in writing. I did this and delivered this personally on the 4th of the month giving them one months notice as required. I was told the manager would contact me within 24 hrs as I had complained as part of my cancellation. Of course he didn't ring and as I heard nothing I cancelled my direct debit as I thought they may try to take another payment end of July. Low and behold they tried to take payment and then sent me a letter and rang saying that I hadn't made payment. They weren't interested in why I had left and just wanted another months money saying that as I served notice on the 4th this was part month and they want another full months payment as per their ts and cs. I said this was unfair as I haven't used the club for months but again try weren't interested. I asked for a copy of the ts and cs that I had signed as they may gave changed over the years that I had been with them. Heard nothing from them until I received a letter from a debt collection agency ARC saying I owe one month fees plus £70 debt collection fees. I was fuming that David Lloyd hadn't even got back to me and had ignored my comments and sent to debt recovery. I have told the arc guy that my account is not in arrears and is in dispute and if he continues hassling me I will take him to court for harassment and defamation of character. He has said that he will get back to me with my signed ts and cs but not sure I hold out much hope and expect more nasty letters. Do I have a case as I am not happy paying nearly two months worth of fees pus arc fees when I shouldn't need to. What does anyone recommend as I am tempted to let them take me to court go make a stand. Paul
