  1. Thanx for your comment Ray Ive seen the Henry but hadnt any opinion on it. I once had a barrel type wet and dry machine, some obscure make. It made a lot of noise but wasnt much suck. Shows how misleading these machines can be. Good tip on Epson, pound for a cartridge is fair, which model was it? You can get large ink tanks to fit on the side but fitting the tubes is a fiddly business. I gave up on ink jets cos of poor reliability several years ago. Unless you use them every day, they tend to clog up. Perhaps the technology has got better? cheers Robin:smile:
  2. Before I belt on about this very important and largely ignored area, is there much interest here? After all, disabled people are often elderly and non technical yet have to make important and often costly decisions (several thousand pounds) based on salesman pressure. You wouldnt buy a car under these circumstances yet the disabled are placing their safety and mobility on the presumed merits of these carts (many of which come from China) and are of dubious quality. For example, the lead acid batteries used on many models are wholly unsuitable for electric cart duty. There are no accurate specs for hill climbing ability The true mileage obtainable from one charge is often less than half the claimed capacity in practice. and so on I havent found any reputable site that has any test results (not even Which except for offering some rather trite useless advice) By comparison, if you wanted evaluation info on electric bikes there are many sites well informed on all aspects. Any interest here? Cheers Robin:smile:
  3. Hi I am so annoyed with Hoover that I felt compelled to warn other consumers about this model which is less than useless, T7732 Freespace Cyclonic Here are some of my bad experiences at a cost of £165 a year ago. Firstly these cyclonic device will only work properly when fairly empty. As soon as the dust compartment starts to fill up and worse still if it collects fluff and hairs, then this interfers with the cyclonic action and the dust is not separated properly. Its then thrown on to the exhaust filters which quickly block up. In my case the pressure pushed out the filters (unknown to me) and dust sucked up from the carpet was blown around the room. I unhooked and cleaned the exhaust filter pads but this didnt help as the inner coarser filters were also blocked There was no way to dismantle the machine without breaking into it so I could not clean these filters Clearly the machine is purposely designed to fail. Secondly I discovered the casing leaked air also blowing dust around We are all probably aware of how the industry cheated us over bagged cleaners. The cost of the bags was prohibitive £15 for 4 and you had to change a bag out each time once it had filled. I struggled with mine and found a way to unzip the bag and get 10 times the use out of it, but the design made this very difficult to do without destroying the bag Its the same nasty trick that was played with inkjet printers where the cost of new cartridges was half the price of a new printer (and the cartridges supplied with the new model were only half full so ran out quickly. Industry's dirty tricks played on consumers:mad2:
