  1. Well my situation has just got even more bizarre and I don't know what to think As you know I was being "reviewed" with regards to childcare and I sent in full disclosure about 2 wks ago (estimated I owed approx £8000) and I presumed that this "review" was the reason my renewal hadn't been processed because I sent it in at beginning of July and then the childcare letter turned up 5/6 weeks after. Well...........checked my bank as normal this morning and an extra payment has been paid (more than I normally get per week by approx £10) so I called them and was advised that my award had been finalised and it had generated an extra payment and that my weekly figure has increased per week. Now my question / worry is; what has happened with regards to the overpayment I have received?!?!?!?!? If my figures have gone up then it's obvious they are not taking any money back. Does this mean that they are going to recover it in a different way (prosecution etc?!?!?!?!?!?!).

  5. God what a nightmare!! Did you send your renewal by recorded delivery? When you chased your renewal up did they confirm receipt? The letter that I received did say if I have any questions about my claim I have to contact them as opposed to the normal tc team. How much do you estimate you owe them?
  6. Well nothing to update as yet for me how about anyone else?
  7. Oh i do hope mine is the same as your joolyc! I'm still awaiting my amended award - I estimate mine to be around £8000.
  8. I too am awaiting an outcome for over claiming childcare, they contacted my "providers" and then sent me a letter with the information they'd received and asked me to confirm. I anticipate an overpayment of approx £8000. I sent my letter in almost 2 weeks ago so I am playing the waiting game.
  9. Good to hear bpm. Glad it's sorted for you.
  10. I am in the same boat although i know that my claim is being "reviewed" with regards to childcare. I didn't notify them of a change to circumstances and claimed childcare element between April 10 - Nov 10. I sent my renewal in on 05 July and hasn't heard anything (other than being advised it was being processed when I called) until I received a letter advising me they had contacted my childcare providers they had on file. I wrote to them and confirmed that there should have been no childcare between April - Nov and therefore I am expecting an overpayment of around £8000 (shocking i know). But my dilema comes as my circumstances have changed since renewal (last week actually), I started a new job therefore I need to notify them. I am going to hang on just a little bit longer to wait for renewal to be finalised and then amend my circumstances. I am hoping from other posts that it won't take long - if it comes near the 30 day mark then I will just have to amend my award as don't want to receive a penalty on top of my overpayment!
  11. Just to update we were eligible for £810 and have received the payment.
  12. Just to update the thread. A HB payment was due in my bank today - no payment there. Called the HB dept and was informed that my claim had been suspended due to info provided by JCP, it is now with the processing team to decide whether we meet the run-on criteria so god knows how long that will take!
  13. Just to update incase anyone comes across this thread whilst searching for answers. The Job Grant in my husbands case was NOT processed automatically. He called up and they had processed his final JSA payment but "forgotten" (their words) to process the job grant which he was entitled to. After several phone calls they agreed to make a same day payment.
  14. Just to update the thread incase anyone comes across it googling for answers to a similar query - the social fund loan was paid as agreed. As yet we haven't received any information as to how to pay it etc.
  15. I have no receipts for the period they have asked. I didn't declare childcare had stopped until november 2010 therefore received payments between apr-nov. I am aware there will be an overpayment and have been honest.
  16. How long did it take them to respond to your letter of confirmation / admission? I have received next weeks tax credits payment today (due to bank hol) and that was exactly the same as before. I sent my letter to them 2nd class recorded delivery last Weds (17/08)
  17. I sent my renewal pack in on 05 July and hadn't heard a thing until about 10 days ago a letter dropped on my doorstep from the compliance team regarding childcare that I have claimed between April 2010-April 2011 - they had contacted the childcare providers that they had on record and the information they had received back (basically that I hadn't paid any). The letter wasn't nasty, it just asked me to confirm whether the information was correct and that if I hadn't responded by 24/08/11 they would amend my award using the info they had. I basically wrote back and advised them that yes the information is correct and that I informed them in November 2010 (at which point childcare was removed from my award). I am now waiting for a response which I think may be any day now. I estimate that I will have been overpaid by approx £8000 between April 2010 - November 2010 and I am hoping (and praying!) that they can deduct it from my existing and future awards without putting my family into hardship. Finger crossed!
  18. Just got back off holiday and I was dreading opening the mail but there was no letter from the tax credits. My payment went in Monday as normal. I sent my letter to them last Tuesday so I am hoping that once the compliance team sort my overpaid childcare my award will be generated. I am just HOPING that it doesn't leave me skint Thats good news Nic. What are you going to do about childcare? xxx
  19. Phone them enzaboo - they're open now. The sooner you ring the sooner it can be sorted. - don't think it took zara long but each case is different. We are all here to support you xxx
  20. You could always apply for a crisis loan from job centre plus if they can't do it straight away and if you qualify you can normally get a same day giro payment. Try not to panic I'm sure it'll be easily sorted. Good luck nic, hope you here something! I'm away after tea time so will update next week. xxx
  21. Did you send it recorded delivery? Did you ring to make sure it'd been received?!? Zara is in the same boat as you and just had hers reinstated - hers stopped as they said she didn't renew.
  22. You mean your normal tax credits payment hasn't been paid? The tax credits office opens at 8am I think - give them a call. It sounds as if you haven't renewed and they have stopped your claim. Do you think you renewed by phone or post?
