Hi there, about a year ago i got a contract at P4U via Vodafone and from the start it was a nightmare. 1. i got my BB from P4U within a day i was having loads of problems with the handset, (VERY unusal for a £800 contract phone!) so i spoke to P4U and they agreed to swap it for another handset, so i choose a Sony Erricsson Satio, when i gave back the BB the manager in the shop gave me a box that was already opened, phone had signs of use, sim card and memory card was in the handset already and some parts were missing out of the box! i pointed these out to the manager and he lied to my face telling me they opended to borrow a charger! i was then told i had no choice but to take it, so i did. This phone was rubbish also, hardly worked for what i wanted and i was so fed up and dissapointed by then. 2. i was paying fine along my contract and then i lost my job because they wasnt making enough money and couldnt afford to keep me, great! so i did whatever i could to keep up the payments, i let Vodafone know if i was going to pay 1 or 2 days late as paydates were after bill due dates they said this was fine. they obviously ignored me locked my account on the day the bill was due and when they lock you out they make it so difficult to pay them as you cannot log in to your online account to pay or even ring them as the phone is cut off, what a joke! because of them cutting me off it threw the bill dates around so every month i was always paying late because of their stupid system! After this farce was going on for a few months i couldnt afford to pay as i had litteraly no money to spare being a fulltime student ect and having a really bad time with this whole thing i stopped paying and ignored ALL phone calls and letters since, they have since sold it on to some other debt collection agency that call my house every week when im not there (dumbasses!) and threatening to come to my house. i know these people want their money and dont want to hear excuses and just want to make more money, so thats why i dont answer. I have a few questions regarding this: 1. Do i have any grounds to NOT pay because of this shody service (which im sure breaches the contract, like i did)? 2. if the debt collectors came to my house, which i share with my 5 siblings and mum: a) can they force thier way in? b) what could they take? ONLY my stuff? i cant see how they can take property that belongs to other people and asking to prove its thiers is surley the same as asking them to prove its mine, right? 3. If i ignore the whole thing for 6 years will it be wiped of my credit report? can someone please advice me on what to do? so confused! p.s sorry for my bad english/grammar. Edit: i didnt realise how much of a bad company VF is! so many people complaining and theyve even set up a dedicated team to deal with the complaints! wow i wish i would have seen this site a year ago!
