  1. Are these 'budget' tyres new looking, the right size for the car and fitted correctly ?
  2. Did they send you images from their parking warden (one that can use a camera) that confirms the back end of the ticket was displayed in your vehicle ?
  3. I would Before it was stolen it wasn't up for sale, but now I would offer £10k for the car as it currently stands.
  4. The o/p did state in the first instance 'van stopped in a bay of "Resident Permit Parking Only" waiting for a customer to deliver some beds'. Can you get some corroborating correspondence from them as it would swing things in your favour. It would be worth getting the full address of delivery on a docket with signature as then you have proof of third party involvement as well.
  5. Do you have the engine code ? (three digits) Was the tensioner replaced at the same time as the belt ?

Not at all. The o/p stated that 'I was on Holiday at the time the car tax expired, so could not notify them that the vehicle was not being used' which I assume means the o/p was unable to log on to the DVLA portal, as I've had the same issue when on a business trip to the UAE.
  7. Tell him to report you to the police, I'm sure they will love to deal with this.
  8. Certainly isn't from past experience. The responsibility and warranty (at least for a new vehicle) ultimately lies with the manufacturer, since you confirm the supplier is a Honda dealership then the chain - sic- of responsibility remains intact. The problem I can see (at least from the blurb on the dealers site) is that they have no brand loyalty, the response from the manufacturer might be a standard response based on this. After all you could just have easily bought anything other than a Honda at the time of parting out the KTM.
  9. Which make and model of vehicle was this ? Is the garage affiliated (by their proximity, or possible advertising board outside) to any particular brand ?

Are you certain you didn't post off the SORN documentation whilst on that sunny Spanish island ?
  11. What if you catch up with another idiot doing 69 ? . Do you flash your lights and tailgate him, undertake or crawl past him in the correct lane?
  12. How much was the 6 months tax for your vehicle ? How much would 12 months have been and the saving by doing so ? Whatever happens with the process of refunds or relicensing vehicles with the antiquated system (last day of the month), money from the registered keeper is lost in the process. Attempting to claim anything from the DVLA will cost approximately £20 minimum, not including the time to construct a letter, the paper, printer ink and a stamp. Could you get that money back from a complaint for just one month of lost tax ?
  13. Your opening post suggested the car broke down, and then the battery 'went flat'. The issue is of course down to an electrical issue, but whether that is the fault of the vehicle or the user is what is currently under dispute. You say the supplier has changed the battery at some point, has this cured the issue ? Lights are near the top of the list of the most common devices left on by owners, however this could be a number of items depending on the model. Most cars will have a circuit where the indicator will illuminate one side of the vehicle when parked if the stalk is left in a certain position. Then there is the radio and /or sat-nav system, potentially a inboard courtesy light (which may be in the boot or glove compartment if not immediately visible), and even something connected to the cigarette lighter. All of these are outside the scope of investigation by the dealer even if the vehicle was delivered back to them.
  14. A tenner to prove the ticket exists is better than having the council claim the ticket never arrived.
  15. A short letter to Honda UK might get things moving along. Honda (UK) Customer Relations 470 London Road Slough Berkshire SL3 8QY
  16. Make sure you have a copy of the ticket (possibly going to the expense of a solicitor witness you have it) before sending it to the LA. They have no scruples and may destroy anything they receive through the post, continuing their action to fleece you..
  17. You may have to resort to the premium phone line then. But - of course - record all detail and call it using a landline (and provider that supplies itemised billing). You never know when the DVLA might accept an 'oversight' may have occurred and will cough up for costs in rectifying that oversight.
  18. Is the car in a state (not an estate). Your landlord could be picky about what is seen outside his property.
  19. Local Authorities will nail you if they find the monkey with the button has two frames showing your wheels haven't changed position, normally just on one second.
  20. If you can confirm to them it is the only vehicle in your household, you might be in with a chance of a courtesy car
  21. Not at all You just answered your own question.
  22. There should be two sections on the rear, though the seizure notices I have seen are normally white or blue - form 1239 ?, not pink.
  23. When the car was seized you should have been given a copy of the seizure notice, which (if it is filled out correctly by the police officer in front of you) will have a list of stuff you have taken from the vehicle, and stuff that has been left behind. You would only sign that document once the list has been read back to you. What is written on the seizure notice ?
  24. I cannot see anywhere where confirmation is given that the o/p is claiming only for the damage to the motorcycle, helmet, garments, other accessories and possible loss of earnings. His second post on this thread alludes to an injury of some sort.
  25. If there is notice somewhere that the o/p is uninjured it should be on the forum for all to see.
