  1. Got a secured loan with them in March 2006, no problem with repayments. But in 2009 had a huge change in personal life, I wont bore you with details, but had to become full time carer for my disabled son, this involved having to quit work. Arrears started to build with Swift, did the "Bury head in sand and hope it went away", as we all know it doesn't. During this time I had suffered serious health issues.. Anyway, had to address the problem with arrears, and have kept up a repayment plan right to this day, never missed a single payment since 2012. The loan term was 10 years, had letter off them, they want to know my proposals for settling outstanding sum, as loan term will be reached in March 2016. I only borrowed 12000, now they require 18,000 including 2000 of arrears. So the fees must be in excess of 16000, I nearly passed out on the spot. Any advice will be gratefully received, as I'm sure you hear so much on here, i am at my wits end, and so very fearful of whats next, and where to turn too.
  2. Hi DCA's Lowells in particular seem to be buying up debts, most below the bankruptcy threshold. Then lumping them all together for what seems like a class action and issuing statutary demand. So if Mr A owes 300/500/400 for different loans,Lowells issue stat demand for £1200. Rang insolvency agency, they said "can't do that,oh hang on they can.....no not sure",great help. Can you guys shine a light on this please?
  3. Many thanks for your advice in the replies, and i thank you for your time,i know with some of the horrors people are going through on here, this was trivial, but absolutley infuriated me,so again,i thank you for your time
  4. Hi Had some on going issues with a vet, mostly sorted now,but today recieved letter from them with "long overdue, please remit"stamped on the envelope,no argument that i owe them the 20quid,but can't get my head round whether it okay to have that fact on the envelope for all and sundry to read. letter ended up with neighbour so a bit embarrasing.
  5. Hi Sorry wasn't clear on that, one stat demand showing both accounts, with overall total. And the total is what they demand.
  6. Hi Received stat demand threatening bankruptcy, eating first born etc, delivered by hand for two seperate credit card debts, okay regardless of morality and fact they no doubt paid 50quid for them, they now want 3grand. Letter states we WILL(they did upppercase)accept reasonable offer of payment whether it be full payment(how kind)or installments. When i ring them i'm told i have two options, One.Cough up or Two,35% of balance now and payments over 6 months maximum. these figure apparemtly "written in stone". I asked the guy on phone whether his employers have ever looked up the term "offer"?, as i had just recieved an instruction of what they want. Explained situation, single parent, carer on income support(like they give a rats), got me know where of course. Thing that bugs me is the balances on accounts are 1800 & 1200 respectively, yet i must get 3 grand total to below £750 mucho fast, or me and blind son are out (homeowner, thus easy target). If they are seperate accounts, why cant i get EACH accout to below £750?,then they would be screwed. Rang consumer credit counselling service and was told the are allowed to lump them together as one account as its now their account, err i didnt set up an account with them!. Even rang insolvency helpline and was told the same, so whats to stop ANY dca trawling reference agency sites seein Joe blogs owing X Y Z ,say £400,500.£600,buying them up nice and cheap then lumping them together and bankrupting them? Is this correct?,if it is Lord help us when Hamptons take more staff on!
