  1. Sounds like a good idea meemonk. Only question on that though is knowing how much of a tin-pot firm my ex employer was, what can i do if the data of my building access (They used RFID cards) was to go "missing" ?
  2. Hi all, I really need your help. I posted up a few days ago a letter i received from my previous employer, claiming i owed them money from an overpayment of £325.01 despite them owing me at least 40 hours overtime during my employment there. Today i received a letter from Newman Debt Collection Agents stating the following:- I have already sent a letter to them the other day recorded delivery and obtained a signature of NEWMANS and all they have done is ignore me and now they are going to leave me with a huge debt from court to which i refuse to acknowledge. How can companies get away with this? All i wanted was a job, and now my personal records are going to be tarnished for being unwilling to pay money that i know for a fact i dont owe if only my previous employer would tell the truth! What can i do? I dont have time to ring them and letters can take more than 3 days to arrive, especially when i have no money!
  3. I did, thats why i have stated they are refusign to acknowledge the amount they owe me for overtime and sick pay, that is my whole cause for concern!
  4. It was upto 30 days in any one year as long as a doctor has signed you off with the form, which i handed in straight away
  5. Sorry forgot to mention mate, when i went in to the Lewes Road Branch (Nearer to my house) on 7th May 2011, i was informed an error may have been made and will be investigated and i will be phoned on Monday 9th May 2011, which never arose!. Nope no statements or letters until i had apparently racked up several hundred pounds of debt caused by as the guy on 07/05/2011 explained "Caused by Castle Square Branch staff not doing their jobs properly" Nope, just the lady's word for it on Information Desk of Castle Square, but according to Lewes Road Branch, it is still open.
  6. Hi All, My other case i have ongoing at the moment is with my previous employer. When i started work for them April Last year i spent my first 2 months doing in total 40 hours overtime (An hour extra each morning). Because of what was only described as a "computer says no" situation, those hours went unpaid. A year later and i have just left their employment this February. On 8th April 2011 i received this letter:- They have already passed my details onto a Debt Collection Agency and even to this day refuse to acknowledge i am owed 40 hours of overtime and sick pay (I was off sick in February with depression and advised to find a new job after frequent disputes with my team leader). I have sent a letter recorded delivery requesting ALL information held on me, including building access records (The building has an RFID card entry system) but as of yet have failed to receive any acknowledgement of receipt, despite having seen a signature for Proof of Delivery with Royal Mail. Anyone have any further suggestions?
  7. Ok guys this is the letter i received on the 8th of this month. The story l;eading upto this is quite simple. I was in the Castle Square branch of Natwest here in Brighton on my lunch break tryign to withdraw £3 for my lunch when i was informed i had to upgrade my account i had been using for at least 5 years was about to be closed so i needed a new bank account. 20 Minutes later i had been suckered into accepting an "Advantage Gold" account for £12.95 a month with Mobile Phone insurance that would defiantely cover my Chinese Iphone clone, on the understanding i had 14 days cooling off period with which to cancel the account from when i received the paperwork. On the 28th June 2010 i received my card through the post and immediately transferred £250 from my older account to this sparkly new card in order to get round the whole £250 max ATM withdrawals gimmick and so immeiately withdrew it at my local ATM. The next day, the 29th June 2010, i received my paperwork and realised that in fact i was covered for everythign already, having worked for an insurance company, and was only not covered my phone. So on i pop to the website to activate my Phone Insurance but wait, whats this mysterious dialog box "We cannot provide cover for this handset". Ok so this account is same interest rates, has insurance i already have and still doesnt cover my phone, so i went straight down to the same branch, card in 2 pieces in the same envelope the documents came in and explained that i was mis-sold the account and want it closed immediately. I was informed by the lady behind the information desk that she would action it that day and no charges will come out. Fantastic! I received nothign else from them all the way up until march when i was notified the account was actually still open and heavily overdrawn! So all in all, i am facing a Credit Default and a debt of £657.78 all because some advisor got brownie points for setting up this account. I have been into the branch several times and wrote a few letters and yet still they ignore me. I even went into the branch on Saturday 7th May 2011 and was told it would be investigated and i would be called on my mobile on Monday 9th May 2011, but still nothing. What can i do? Dave
