I have been away on holiday, not been here much...hence the lack of posting. It will be soon..........

And to add to DX comment, have you done a CCA request?
-
eerm, DX, they are a debt purchase company. Ensure you keep all the relevant proof that your payments have reached them. I bet they are having a bad month and are looking for a bit more money so they can but their next tranche of debt. Think, if they could get an extra pound from each of their paying customers how much richer that would make them Keep to your original payments as that is what you previously agreed - dont pay more than you can afford, also request everything in writing. Dont validate who you are when they phone you
-
I like your way of thinking here.......
-
if they do phone you, impact are known not to verify DPA correctly - something to look out for if you decide to answer.

Surely an incorrect DOB will render this unenforcable - that is disgraceful from the salesperson - also a bit naughty from you I would assume that an incorrect date of birth means that it is not you? Also if you check your report, check that this is on there. If it is not then I am sure you can do something on this. It will be interesting to see what some of the more experienced members say........ -

Then surely the DOB on their file will differ to yours???????????????????????????????????/ -
DX Are you sure? I think that is equifax, I was sure Experian was as as I stated. maybe I am going mad
-
Do you know the start date of these contracts? If it was before you moved out, they would have sent you monthly statements surely? CCA does not apply to mobile phone contracts as stated above.

dlc ignoring my cca letter and follow up

In that case I beleive at the moment it is just threats trying to frighten you into paying. I assumed as much as Hillsden mostly purchase bank debt - but wanted to make sure - may have been a new aquisition. I would suggest waiting for others to comment though - it has been a while since I dealt with DLC -
If you pay back less than the outstanding balance as a settlement then it will mark your credit file as 'settled' if you pay it all back, it will mark as 'satisfied' - well thats for Experian anyway. They both reflect much better than nothing however 'satisfied' will carry more weight when making a lending decision towards you. I hope that has answered your question. As per DX though, I would make steops to see if they are entitled to your hard earned cash and you could do a CCA request

If you do this, then it will link you. If you already have existing commitments at your new address such as a mobile phone contract / bank account, you will probably already be linked. Aside from the CCJ's have you checked the enforcability of these 'debts'? You may want to consider a CCA request to each. -

CCJ's should reflect on your credit report - go to Experian or equifax and request this online. I beleive the cost is minimal - sometimes free -
I agree with Nicklea here. I think it best to do what is necessary at the time rather than the kitchen sink
