After making the mistake of leaving my car untaxed while sorn on a public road, it was clamped, I paid the fine and got a tax disc thought that would be the end of it.. Now have got a letter from the DLVA offering an out of court settlement (OCS) of £491! It probably doesn't matter to them, but i couldn't move the car if I tried.. it broke down after an MOT (succesful aswell!) and is not at all safe to drive (cutting out problem) The car in it's current state isn't even worth that much money, and further it's not been fixed because I have no money being a student who's just about scraping by.. Can anyone advise me on the best course of action?
