  1. Ha very funny mariner, Ok so - LL claims fridge that is there isn't the fridge that should of been there when we moved in. They want the £120 to replace it which is rubbish because it's the same fridge. HOWEVER they didn't make an inventory but I had problems with last LL (went to TDS and won based on inventory) so I know the TDPSchemes go off that. I then decided to ring all the schemes to see who we were with to raise a dispute we werent with any, so partner rung too to double check and she used some web-form that gets sent to all 3 of the schemes to do a further check and again they all said we werent with them. Now were at this point the LL admitted TWICE (once 2 days ago and about 30 minutes ago) on the phone that our deposit is only with them asked him to email it me but he said he can't because he already told me on phone and he's too busy. Next week is my final week of university i.e., this and next week I am overloaded with work and if I can send letters and email that would be great over having to sit in a CAB office for hours. If that is what I need to do however I will but if I can do the prep for taking them to county court (this is small claims right :S? - not very up on Law) then I would very much like to. Regards, Ryan
  2. Yeah I've been on that site and CAB and DirectGOV all same sorta thing being said "The court can also order the landlord or agent to pay you compensation equivalent to three times the value of the deposit you paid. However, the law on this issue is unclear and the court may not fine your landlord unless your deposit is still unprotected by the date of the court hearing." That whole unclear section is the one that makes me expect only my deposit back, which is NP really for me, but this company have 3 receptionists so I can only assume they have alot of houses and god only knows how many other people they are doing this too, to save money or time for themselves. Know anyone I can speak to about this? Any member of the government or council to report them or do I just let them keep going on with what there doing and just get my deposit back with no x3? Few extra questions there, thanks for answering any of them everybody!
  3. Hey there CAG, My problem is my LL (Who are also the estate agents) are trying to take £120 out of my deposit of £400. Over the course of the last 10 days I have spoke to the 3 TDPSchemes and my partner messaged them just to double check and none of them say we are with them. In a phone conversation with LL office other day they said that our deposit is with them. I then asked him to email me this information, he didn't. I sent an email today he replied but said: "It is not important for you to know what company your deposit is held with." What should I do? Send a letter ASAP saying: "We want out deposit your breaking the law, we can take you to court." - even if we went to court would we win or probably lose and have to pay LL court fees? Please help!
