  1. Hi, Thanks for getting back. The insurance are part of the Admiral Group, and my insurance was set to be cancelled once I made a claim. I asked why this would happen, and they just said that was the process. Although I had cancelled the process to claim I only had a month left on the policy and with the car not being road worthy after the incident, I didn't bother going through re-instating the policy. The catagory was giving by their own employed desk based engineer. Initially, somone from Vauxhall came and took pictures and left. Where do I stand on this? I don't want to go through claiming on my insurance. With my no claims bonus not protected and the recent increase for insurance, will leave me too short. I am better off repairing the vehicle myself. I have estimated I can repair the vehicle myself for around £1200 and the vehicle i worth around £3500 Hope this makes sense. Thanks,
  2. Hi Hope someone can help me on this, as I’m completely stuck. My Brother was a named driver on my policy and had an incident, resulting my vehicle sustaining damage. The insurance declared my car as ‘write off’ and were going through the process of making a settlement. My insurance was going to be cancelled, so immediately started to look for a new policy. My insurance had jumped to such a high amount, I decided not to go ahead with my claim and cancelled it. Since then, my car has been declared a CAT C, despite not claiming on my insurance. What’s more, the insurance tell me once an engineer has been looked over by an engineer, they have an obligation to inform the DVLA. What annoys me is the car was never looked at by and engineer, someone came out, took some pictures, and left. My vehicle didn’t even make to the garage to undergo any sort of inspection. I have no problem putting the vehicle through another MOT or VIC, but I don’t understand why my vehicle has been branded a CAT C (insurance write off) when it hasn’t been claimed against. Hope someone can help. Thanks,
