  1. I'm in a long running disput with the DWP for some alleged income support overpayment whilst I was caring for a terminal relative and I may owe some on an old lloyds credit card... Could it be either of those do you think?
  2. Thanks for the quick reply. I have moved house a fair bit so my worry I guess is that IF it is in fact my debt, I don't want to be in the dark about it.Seems they don't have my address. I don't want it going to court with me ignoring it... Sorry about the mis-post.
  3. Hello all. I hope I'm posting in the right place. .. I had a call earlier (and a few yesterday) from what I now know to be Moorcroft. They're obviously debt collection but wouldn't give any other information, muttering about data protection blah, until I confirmed lots of personal info. They wouldn't budge until I confirmed my address, yet said that they'd sent letters (which I haven't received). They were fairly brusque and unfriendly. I refused as I felt the burden of proof was on them as theirs was the unsolicited call. Not sure if this was the right thing to do but obviously wanted to find out what they're all about. We hit an impasse and she said she'd log the call and then she hung up. Having a little read in these forums I see they're well known for being rude and intimidating, but also I'd like to know what they're calling about so I can sort out any debt asap. Can someone here advise please on the best course of action? It seems to be best not to engage on the phone (according to some posts on here) but by confirming my address with them I'm surely opening myself up for harrassment for some debt I don't even know is mine...!!? Am I being too cautious? Any help with this matter would be most appreciated. Thankyou
