  1. Hi Afraid not. I can only assume that if you are sick you are sick and as I do not actually have seven working days left in my shift pattern before leaving my doctor does not feel I need a medical certificate for the period. The only confusing bit is that from Monday onwards I am offically on my rest period after completion of my set of nights. But if I am entitled to sick pay normally I cannot see how working a notice period changes those conditions of employment.
  2. This has probably ben answsered previously but cannot find an exact match. I am in the last two weeks of my notice period. I work a permanent night shift of seven nights on and seven nights off. I am currently on my third night of the seven working nights but am not well, i have seen my GP who advised me that i can self certificate for the next seven days if necessary. I am entitled as a full time member of staff who has completed my probation period to six months full sick pay, but am now unsure what will happen if I go sick with five actual working nights left. I am supposed to finish working nights on Monday morning then I will be on my official rest days until the completion of my notice period. I am pretty certain I am covered by my statutory employment rights and my conditions of employment but just need some reassurance. Can you help please?
