  1. Make and model of car plus (at the time of buying), how old was the car? What did you pay? What was the mileage? How many previous keepers? Any history?

its a vauxhall astra on an 06 plate i paid just over 6K for it, 55,000 miles on it at the time 2 previous owners, and no history at all not even a service book or manual for the car. i asked the dealer for a book at the time but im still waiting

  2. i bought a car in aug 2010 from a dealer, since i bought the car ive had nothing but problems with it, faulty handbrake, oil pressure switch faulty, the car is a 1.4 petrol and it sounds like a diesel. the pressure switch and handbrake were sorted but have since re appeared. also the MOT is due in July so i checked the MOT today to book it in. i found that the MOT was issued with an advisory notice, but no advisory notice paperwork was handed to me at point of sale or was not pointed out to me either. i have checked on derect.gov's website and found the following faults with the car.

Nearside Front Anti-roll bar linkage has slight play in a ball joint (2.4.G.3)

Nearside Rear Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1)

Offside Rear Tyre worn close to the legal limit (4.1.E.1)

i have noticed that the front tyres are worn and not the rear. is it possible they have swapped the tyres around on the car before selling it to me? also do i have a case to hand the car back to them as the car is potentially unroadworthy.

    does anyone have any advise.

    thanks

  3. ive had a similar problem with preferred mortgages - capestone mortgage services. i took out a mortgage with them in dec 2005, in 2006 i missed a couple of payments, after a couple of letters i caught up with all the payments, due to a relationship breakdown i sold the house in 2007 and the completion date was 30th Nov so as far as im aware the solicitor paid off the mortgage off on that date.

i checked my credit file the other week and found that preferred had placed i default on my file. the date of the default was 29.12.2006. i dont understand that at all. as i never defaulted on the account and even if i had they would have prepossessed the house.

    can anyone help

    thanks
