  1. The account was well run for many years so probably not. My point is that how do I know that date is true? Surely there has to be something provided to show this or else all companies could just claim you slipped past the date since they will certainly realise I don't remember that far back
  2. Okay I requested a cca from Natwest and eventually heard back from them today. They tell me that my account was opened on 7 May 1985 and because section 8 was bought into force on 19 May 1985 it is sufficient to supply just a copy of the current terms - 'that acts as a 'true copy'' Well? Obviously it's all such a long time ago that I have no idea when the account was opened - I would have struggled to identify the year let alone the date and obviously as they haven't sent me any proof I just have their word for it....
  3. Ok pretty new to this! Had a scan around the site and very happy to have found thank you. I have substantial credit card debts spread over three providers. I now find myself with minimal income and so have written to each explaining and offering a token payment for time being by standing order. I have no assets. First one I have heard back from is Natwest and I wonder if someone can help explain? Curiously there first response was to write to me saying "the letter was not signed and as a result I am unable to undertake the action requested" Their letter has a box for my signature and they wish me to return it. Because I was confused at this illogical response it got me thinking about things I've read regarding CCA's... This credit card must have been taken out around 20 years ago. Is there another reason for them to need me to send them my signature so they can discuss my debt or is this possibly something to do with a lack of enforceable agreement and does my providing a signature help them in any way? Advice please.
