  1. Will check when last payment was made. Also, on my SAR it says:"The written off debt on this account has been sold to a third party debt purchaser". If it is written off why did they sell it?
  2. Thank you for merging the threads. I thought I needed one per DCA!! I have just checked my credit file and it looks like the default date was 01/2008 for one account and 02/2008 for the other. Still not SB. Could not see anything else. The only respond to the DCA when they write to me. Thank you for your help.
  3. Thank you dx100uk. What do you think they will add on my credit file other than the default that Arrow Global had already posted there? Will check and report back.
  4. Hi there, It seems, from my SAR, that Arrow Global bought 'my alleged debt' from Orange. It then passes it on to two different deb collection agencies. Thanks to this forum, I have managed to get them to send the 'debt' back to Arrow Global. The latter gave one of the 'debts' to another DCA, NCO Europe. Again it failed to provide proof of the 'debt' and I wrote to both Arrow Global and NCO. I hadn't heard from them for over four months. Recently, NCO stared to ring me once to twice a week asking me to get in touch. I refuse to speak to them on the phone. I am not sure what to do next. Could you please help. Thank you
  5. Thank you Bazooka. Do you suggest I seed the letter to Advantis or Arrow Global? Advantis were acting on behalf of the latter. Do you think they will pass this on to another DCA? Thanks
  6. *Update* Received a letter from Advantis saying the following: "we are no longer dealing with your account. Our client has notified us to cease collection on your account. Your account has now been closed and there will be no further action taken by ourselves." I am not sure I understand what is going on. Does it mean they could not find the paper work and as a result coudl not make legitimate claim; or does it mean they will simply pass it on to another DCA to have another go at tryring to get some money out of me? I am not sure I should interpret their letter as 'good' news! Any thoughts?
  7. I would like to add Fredrickson International. They do not seem to read the letters they receive. They have ignored all my requests and kept demanding payment.
  8. Fredrickson has decided to completely ignore my letters, including the one I sent to Bryan Carter. I received a letter from them saying that "as a gesture of goodwill we are prepared to accept a full and final settement on this account" Isn't that nice and generous?! What I do not understand is the following sentence in their letter: "We are prepared to offer you one final opportunity to pay before recommending to our client that they instruct their solicitors to issue a claim at: my address." what does it mean? Why do they mention my address rather than me? Can someone shed some light on this please. Thanks
  9. Thank you both. Teed_off, my situation is somewhat different. I do not recognise it as a debt but as a penalty and have refused to pay since 2007. Others (there were a lot of people) in the same situation had their so called debt written off but mine seemed to have been pased on to Arrow Global. Is it worth responding to Carter's letter? Thank you.
  10. Fredrickson have been chasing me pay an alleged debt for about a month. I sent them a prove it letter which they ignored, but kept wrting demanding payment. I then sent them the data protection one but have not heard yet. Today, I received a letter from Carter demanding payment or they will recommend to their client that proceedings be issued without further notice. Can Freds just ignore my request to prove that I have a debt but forward my case to their solicitor for further harassment? My initial reaction was "please expedite the matter" but it might not be the best approach! Any suggestions please?
  11. Thank you Tingy for you reassurances. Arrow Global has given two alleged debts to two different DCA: Advantis and Freds. Advantis has not replied to my request yet and stopped sending letters. However, Freds ignored my request and sent the letter before action to whi I am going to reply. I know that they cannot take me to court because they do not owe the alleged debt. However, Arrow Global might as they seem to be belligerent and I want to be fully ready for them. I will carry on the letter game as yousaid and will try not to worry about it too much. Thank you for the support.
  12. Thanks Maroondevo. Not sure Tingy. Do I need at this stage? Or any other stage? How useful is it?
  13. I was thinking of asking for an SAR but hesitate between writing to orange or to Arrow global. Some posts recommended to send the request to the DCA and get them to do some work for a change but others said that you do not get the full info. What is the best approach? Thanks
  14. Thank you both. I appreciate the support and the help you all provide. I did as Bazooka suggested and I have a case number now. Spoke to a very nice person who suggested to write to Freds reiterating the request and I will do that very shortly. Tingy, have you had a reply from them yet?
  15. Recieved a letter before action from Freds. They have totally ignored my request to provide evidence as to my liability and assume they will win the case because they include the court and solicitor fees "should it benecesary to issue proceedings". Can someone please suggest what to do next ? Thanks
  16. Thanks Bazooka. Is it worth finding out what they have on me first?
  17. Thank you all. Bazooka, the dispute started when I terminated the contracts with Orange following the cash back saga in 2007. Today, I have received an 'automated' phone call from Fredrikson International. They have left a message asking to get in touch with them quoting a reference and phone number to ring. It is coming from all directions and I do not know where to start now. 1. Shall I send a "prove it letter" to Advantis? 2. Shall I send a "disputed account letter" to Arrow Global? 3. what do I do with Fredrikson International? Part of me want to raise the money and get them off my back and another part want to fight it to the bitter end!! Please with the questions above. Thanks
  18. Thanks for the reply. I actually have a copy of the whole OFCOM document. It is in a language that seems only accessible to the selected few. What should I do next? Please help.
  19. I am disputing the Early Termination Charges. I am saying that I am willing to compensate Orange but not pay for services they had not provide. The OFCOM Final Statement did say something about additional charges. I am so stressed I am not sure about anything at the moment. What should I do next? I am sure I cannot just keep ignoring them, or can I?!
  20. Spent hours trying to scan the letter but had to type it, word for word, in the end. I have indeed read it carefully as they suggested. I am surprised they can monitor my finacial dealings and threaten to make me pay. The bold are the statements that I am really surprised about. Here it comes: Dear…. We refer to the above and confirm we are a Debt Collection Agency (DCA) and have been appointed to collect payment of your debt. We believe it is important for you to understand who Arrow Global are. Arrow Global purchases debt such as yours and operates internationally, purchasing debt from many of Europe’s leading financial institutions. The company currently owns debts exceeding £2.2 billion in value, consisting of some 1.6 million individual accounts. You should be in no doubt that payment of that which you owe will be pursued and the company will utilise its expertise in the management of data and litigation in pursuit of monies owed. Arrow Global takes advantage of all available data relating to you and your financial position, both public data (electoral information, Her Majesty’s Land Registry etc) and information produced by Credit Reference Agencies (CRA), which details the manner in which you conduct your financial affairs and consequently you ability to pay that which you owe the company. In addition, Arrow Global is a significant user of the County Court System, with more than 30,000 active court cases against debtors who have failed to pay, via its internal legal department and an extensive external legal panel. In your case, we suspect you are able to pay, but have chosen not to do so. The performance of your financial dealings is being monitored on a monthly basis as a consequence of CRA data available to Arrow Global. Accordingly, the company has already made an informed decision regarding the future conduct of your case should you refuse to make payment in full and /or provide realistic proposals for payment of the debt you owe. As advised above, we are the DCA appointed to engage with you and obtain payment in full or agree a realistic arrangement for you to pay your debt. You should read this communication carefully, follow the instructions and reply without delay. Should you have any queries or any of the information is incorrect, please contact Advantis on ……….. We look forward to hearing from you. Advantis Credit LTD
  21. I have received another, rather long, letter from Advantis. This time they are saying that they are monitoring "the performance of my finacial dealings on a monthly basis" and that in my situation it is not the case that I cannot pay but that I refuse to pay. How can they monitor my financial dealings A couple of thing I woudl like you to help with: a) the so called debt is disputed since 2007. I beleive I still have copies of various correspondence b) the letter states: debt owed to Arrow Global Assigned by Orange ; does it means it is own/bought by Arrow or is it still Oranges? I do not what kind of check they completed, but they seem to assume that I ma the person they are after. c) what should I do next? I have not responded to either letters. Thank you.
  22. Thank you for you help BB and for all the links that you have included. The letter was addressed to me and that is why I opened it. I have contacted some people who were in exactly the same situation and who went through the same process as me, i.e. deadlock letters, CISAS, MP, Trading Standards, etc.. and one of them received a letter from a network provider saying that he has "write-off credit control" and showing that he owes nothing. Other people have not heard from the network provider or the DCA! Are the Network porviders taking a random approach to collecting the money they think they owe? I am struggling to understand why some were written off and others are chased up? How would I know that the alleged debt is actually sold and that this will give the right to the new owner to start court proceedings? Also, I have disputed this with the two network providers, and if it disputed, can they still chase me for it? Thank you.
  23. Thanks BB. I have not heard from them and I am kind of worried!! The only entry I have in my diary is the 20/01 when I received the letter from Advantis. They do not seem to have my phone number. I read in another post that it is my duty to inform my creditors of change of address. Should I check if I have any post at my old address? Where do I stand with these people? Thanks
  24. Hi BB, I received a letter from Advantis Credit to my current address on 20/01, asking whether I am the person who lived in (.....) previously. The letter said that if I am the person to get in touch with them, if I am not they apologise but to still get in touch with them so that they can update their records and if I do not contact them, they will assume that I am the person they are looking for and they will be contacting me again to resolve the issue. I have not heard from them this week . I am expecting them to hound me because that's what they do best. What should I do next? Shall I just wait and see what their next move is? Thanks
