Firstly, here's a part of appeal I sent, to explain the situation: I received a response today and they're refusing to cancel my fine. Now, I didn't expect them to be cancelled... my letter was worded in a way in which to suggest that the severity of the fine was unfair, not the fact I received a fine at all. They didn't seem to take this into account at all. So I'm considering appealing again... perhaps also writing to the local paper and my MP too. Would any of these options be wise? Or am I fighting a lost cause? Furthermore, the letter stated that I have to pay within 14 days of the date of the letter (23rd December), but I only received the letter today... am I automatically going to be sent another letter, and therefore have an increased fine? Or is it 14 working days? Also, if my attempts at appealing are unsuccessful and I pass that 14 day period, I presume my fine will definitely be increased? Thank you so much, as a poor student this is quite distressful. I can't decide whether to just pay the £132 (Even though I can't really afford it), or to right it (I feel I have a very legitimate case), but risk having to pay even more...
