Tesco banned - clubcard question
Homer67 replied to maxalex's topic in Retail loss Prevention/Other shoplifting allegations.
That letter is a joke! It quotes the value of goods stolen (but they weren't) It quotes the value of goods recovered as £0 but they were fully recovered as they were never actually stolen as in removed from the store! Then it quotes 'Security Cost' so that's for Security to do their job, why would you be responsible for paying their wages?! Hilarious, ignore and don't worry about it. -
Being a first-time buyer is fun! But there are nuances..😁

I think that's what I'd do, try and make sure you have a bolt hole though. -

That's what I meant by 'nothing legal'. If you refused to move out until a certain date and offered the same rate of pro rata rent I think the legal/illegal edges would be blurred, after all how long does it take to actually get someone evicted? Giving you a date to leave and evicting you are two different things. -

Nothing legal comes to mind other than furniture into storage and sofa surf for a few weeks. -
@Ethel Street if the ex didn't have the contract in place before they were an ex and as quoted they took it out in the other party's name, then it's fraudulent to take out a credit agreement at an address you no longer reside at and in someone else's name.

I'd be reporting it to the Police as fraud and getting a crime number as well so at least he gets a visit/letter from Plod to come in for an interview, that might scare him into paying it and not doing anything similar again.

Limited company so you can't be personally liable.

If you feel uncomfortable going to your GP you can contact your local MIND Health department directly and self refer, they are usually excellent in their service. Just a moment... WWW.MIND.ORG.UK -
It's time to back out of that deal. How did she pay the deposit? If by Credit Card do a section 75 chargeback and if by Debit Card contact the bank and do the same reporting it as fraud at the same time. Leave a review once you've resolved the cash back so others don't get caught and name them on here.

Newday Fluid Credit Card debt being chased by Moorcroft
Homer67 replied to glossyfitz's topic in Newday
I believe the advice will be to ignore Moorcroft as they are acting as powerless debt collectors on this matter. Someone with expert advice will be along shortly, in the meantime do not panic, there's little or nothing Moorcroft can do to you -
Affinity water forcing meter charges
Homer67 replied to Lorenz's topic in Utilities - Gas, Electricity, Water
Happened to me and I wasn't even told, first I knew was when a bill arrived quoting a meter reading, I went outside to check and where the property stop cock was in the street a meter had been installed. I was not happy. -
I've done a bit of research into this as well, if you drop a fag butt and step on it these vultures are on you before you have a chance to pick it up. If you pick up the litter, there is no litter, so I cannot see how they could issue a ticket on presumption you weren't going to pick it up anyway. In any case the same applies, they are a private company employee and have no rights to detain you or demand your details so just walk away. Youtube is full of examples of these Enforcement Agents and bear in mind the money they collect doesn't go to the Council, it goes to the private company, the only benefit the Council gets is less litter to collect. I hate littering and do not endorse it in any way but recently in my borough one of these agents aggressively bullied an elderly lady who had a tissue fall from her pocket when she pulled out her purse to pay for something, luckily it was videoed by another member of the public who stepped in and dealt with the Agent for her as he was being extremely aggressive and the lady was in tears. I know if I'd been there he'd have got short shrift from me and sent on his bulling way.

Next time: 1. don't litter!! 2. if an Enforcement Agent approaches you and accuses you of littering pick up the alleged litter and walk away, the 'offence' is not dropping a fag butt to put it out, it's leaving it there, pick it up - there's no offence. 3. The EA has no power to insist you provide them with ID nor can they follow you into private property so go into a shop, pub - anywhere that might have a back exit!. They also have to remain in an area so you can jump on a bus or get a cab and leave the area. Just ignore them until you can get away from them, they cannot stop you walking. They are private company employees contracted to the LA to hand out these tickets. Do not comply!

I think your date for the receipt of the NTK is incorrect, the NTK is out of time to create keeper liability by the dates of the event and on the NTK so unless the Post Office have a time machine you couldn't have received the NTK before it was issued! Don't appeal to the PPC, do nothing but keep all their begging and intimidating letters as the NTK is out of time to create keeper liability so unless you admit your were the driver they are stuffed.
