  1. I appreciate your response and take on board what you say ,and i do appreciate stating other guy `clearly wasn't the best person for the job` is most certainly opinion and for that i apologise. I am already applying for external roles ,but would prefer to stay and get on at my current company ,i respect that they aren't under any obligation to consider me ,but my gripe is being asked to interview on merit (involving lots of time and effort) and being sabotaged by my current manager from getting the job because he doesn't want to lose me to a rival department, this just doesn't seem right ,, alternatively could this be construed as victimisation? I`m not trying to cause trouble and would like to resolve things to everyones satisfaction whilst allowing me the chance of progression that the job originally advertised ,most of all i don't want to be in this pigeon hole.

  2. All facts and no conjecture or opinion from me ,,the company I work for have recently restructured and openings have become available within other departments which I have applied for, the latest of which I was informed by 3 colleagues (1 management) who was `going ` to be successful,, and this was duly the case (despite the applicant being 45 minutes late for the interview, and clearly not the best person for the role). This is probably starting to sound like sour grapes but hand on heart isn't, now ive been informed that my manager and his immediate superior asked for 2 people not to get this job and likewise previous jobs purely on grounds he doesn't want to lose me. While very flattered ,I feel the hours spent on cv`s cover notes and applications as well as the actual interview were a clear waste of time, and am certain future applications are futile ,,,I believe I am getting what is termed as pigeon holed, Whilst im certainly not after any kind of payout ,what realistically is my best course of action to avoid this occurrence in the future without upsetting manager ,hr and interviewing manager?

how I stand legally(if at all),and advice on resolving this would be greatly appreciated ,,,and as said at the outset this is 100% the facts with no spin or exageration

  3. Comming from the other way, you would be exiting the clearway which ends at the signs where the DYs start. Having said that, I think there should be a sign (facing your direction) saying 'clearway ends'.

    thanks for the replies,

was genuinely unaware i was in the clearway and if there had been clearway end signs in same position as the clearway signs but facing in my direction i would have realised i was in the`CLEARWAY`,and certainly wouldnt have parked there,so my question is do the regulations say the clearway end signs are compulsory ?.

  4. Firstly thanks for replying ,

I`m none too hot with all things computers ,and have spent most the day reading up on how to post/link pics (only to discover i have nt got enough posts to do so ,doh!)

    apologee`s in advance for that.

ok ,,alledged offence happened on queen street sheffield approx 15/20 yards before junction with ,tenter street .

    53°23'4.91"N 1°28'16.87"W

co ordinates taken from google earth and have to say the signage and markings (or lack of them!) hasnt changed from that 2008 shot ,,there was a damaged sign post next to my car (with no sign on ),and a signpost 20 yards in front of my vehichle stating i was entering a controlled zone ,,me being 20 yards short of this sign and with no markings i assumed i was ok to park there (so did 4 others!).the pcn states ceo 980 had reason to believe the following contravention had occured and that a penalty charge is now payable :46-stopped where prohibited(on a red route or clearway).

i took 4 pics on my mobile of car on unmarked road ,,distance of car from controlled zone sign , and also a pick of damaged leaning sign post minus sign .

if you can decipher the above and can help ,great!,

if not thanks anyway for trying .

has no relevance to this pcn but Just to add have fought a previous pcn in works vehichle(fair few years back with same council ) on grounds of couldnt see(genuinely ) yellow lines on road due to mud and pcn was withdrawn !!!!
