  1. Whoops - forgot to add I've used 28% as the interest rate as a test as I'm tryna track down the actual rate at the mo ....!
  2. I've tried again today & it works lovely now!?!?!?! Dunno what Vampiress has been up to but it's all good & much appreciated! I've re-entered my claim details on the compound contractual interest spreadsheet & my figures have changed from £340+£36.19 actual interest on charges having an additional £199.92 in compounded interest - does anyone know if this sounds about right???
  3. I sent my prelim letter 16.10.06 (no response as yet) using the complex credit card spreadsheet in the library. Since my discovery of the Vampiress spreadsheets to calculate compound contractual interest I am considering amending my claim. Does anyone know what interest I should use? The rate per month on my statements is 1.385% (Purchases) but I don't know what this actually equates to. I've been on the YB website but can only find Mastercard rates not Visa ... can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance
  4. Hi - this may be too late now but this is the address on my YB Visa Statements: Card Services PO Box 4509 LEEDS LS2 8NP good luck!
  5. Carol - I agree - the service charge I think is another word for interst - I've not heard anything from them after my prelim letter yet so gonna look into claiming the interest ('service charge') on the fees back too
  6. Thanks muchly Glenn ... I've tracked down & used the same spreadsheet & it's brill - I really like it! I was having real problems with the Vampiress one as kept getting error mesages in cells even though I checked date format etc.
  7. Received letter today from Creation - Pretty standard thanking me for my letter & stating they are 'concerned to hear that I'm dissatisfied with the service I've received' Says they will investigate the matter & contact me with findings within 5 working days .....
  8. I wondered if that was the case - thanks. Which spreadsheet did u use to calculate or were u a smartypants & work it out yourself?
  9. WOW - Well done to u both - Presumably Cobblers got fed up of trailing through your long threads then eh! How great a payout b4 xmas when u thought u would have to wait till Feb to go to court! Again - well done - It gives me hope for when I tackle them now too!
  10. Sorry Glenn - me again - just wanna clarify (tell me to sod off if I'm too much of a pain!) Could you just confirm that you can claim contractual interest ON TOP of the interest actually paid then? Also, what's the difference between contractual interest & compound contractual interest? - I promise to leave you alone soon .... :o
  11. Brilliant! ... my waters are less muddy after your clear explanation! So just a recap - ur going for compound contractual interest with a clause u will accept the 8% as an alternative if not? I'm off to click on your scales ....
  12. Thanks lol @ ur comments - uv come a long way!
  13. I've read Col's thread also ... another one to watch! may have to pop in for a luvly cappuchino n a slice of that choccy cake then! I started my own thread last night - hoping it'll be a short one tho! lol I've so many companies to go after I'll soon have my own forum! Thanks 4 the reply
  14. Thank you for your words of encouragement - I have a lot to go at & know it's gonna be a lot of time & effort but from reading on here I'm convinced it'll all be worth it in the end - just need to convince hubby .. roll on the 1st payout cheque - that hould help! CCCS is the consumer credit councelling service who are a registered charity & help with debt problems free of charge. Thanks again for your post - much appreciated
  15. Thanks for your reply - CCCS is the consumer credit counselling service and it is a registered charity - all their help is free of charge - I got their details from the Trever McDonald Tonight program on ITV. I'm sure they are legit & I've read of other people using them on here. I like your idea of telling them to freeze the interest - I will add that into my initial letter - thanks for that idea! Do you think I should calculate the interest charged on the amount from when the balance reached the point where they owe me more?? Should I perhaps save the claim for this interest once I've won back the charges? Lol @ 'Mr Hubby' - I'm sure Mr Hubby won't be a sceptical WHEN we get our cheques & can pay off some debts eh! Thanks Muchly!
  16. Another Q .... My hubby is very sceptical that we will actually get this money back - he fails to see how/why etc they will send us a cq for this money when we owe them money & have a credit card with them too (not checked charges on that yet!) and at the moment we are really struggling to pay so have enlisted the help of the CCCS who are working out a debt management plan for us. We aren't meeting the monthly payments & CCCS will be making a small offer per month as part of the plan. Can anyone reassure me that this is still worth doing & will we be successfull despite of this?
  17. Phhewww - just finished reading your thread - uv come such a long way since u started & u seem to panic a lot less these days too! - well done for getting this far - I'll be watching for your news as I'm gonna be starting on RBS soon x
  18. Hi there I have worked out my charges etc using the complex charges excel spreadsheet calc from this forum (thanks!) If I'm understanding this correcty this just adds all my charges & calculates the actual interest I've been charged on them each month? Anyway, my question is that the amount I'm owed is MORE than I owe them on my overdraft. It is an account I haven't used for ages & I just pay in a bit of money to try & bring down the amount as & when I can and for this I incure a small interest charge each month - should I be claiming back any of this interest as basically they owe me more than I owe so therefore why should I pay interest on them borrowing my money? What do I do? Does this make sense? Thanks in advance
  19. I am claiming back The charges I could claim back the interest i paid I am going to claim the contrat rate on top of the charges prior to going to court (If i wished I could claim the S69 interest INSTEAD of the conttractual rate.) Glenn - could I just check something with you please regarding claiming interest - Do you mean you are claiming your charges + contract rate interest rather than the actual interest you paid? If this is the case does this then mean you can't claim the 8% on top if this goes to court? Presumably if you claim the actual interest paid on charges you can then claim 8% on top if it ends up in court? (Please tell me I'm finally getting the hang of this after what seems like years of reading!! )
  20. Thanks so much for that link - looks like the claims I've started so far will be around £50 each if they go to court then Thanks again - I've saved the link!
  21. Hi there - I've been searching the forum to see if there is a list of expected costs & fees which I may come across whilst making my claims & can't seem to find anything. Can anyone give me an idea what to expect at the various stages please? I've only got to the stage of sending a few prelim letters but would just like to be prepared. Of course I'm hoping all my claims will be straight forward & settled without the need ..... PMSL - I can drean can't I??? Thanks in advance & apologies if they are somewhere n I'm just not looking in the right place!
  22. Hi carol - just reading your posts as i too have started a claim with Studio - I'm certainly no expert but would presume this could be accepted as another part payment as I presume this does not cover the admin charges on your account. I've only claimed admin charges on my claim with them but mine is 'only' for £155.80 over 2yrs so didn't bother with the interest Good luck with the rest of your claim x
  23. Just wanted to start a thread to track my claim against Studio Cards. Posted Prelim Letter with charges spreadsheet yesterday ... watch this space!
  24. Just wanted to start a thread to track my claim against Duet/creation. Posted Prelim Letter with charges spreadsheet yesterday - awaiting a response & getting a tad excited to see what will happen after reading the other posts on here ... watch this space!
