I have today received a letter from Marstons stating that I owe £240 and that they are in possession of a Magistrates Court Order as I haven't paid the fine. The letter goes on to say that I have 7 days to pay the full amount as I have not paid the fine or responded to previous letters. I have not received any previous letters and have no idea what the fine is for. I have checked experian and no accounts appear to be in debt. Is this a genuine letter? Do I really only have 7 days? Is there anything that I can do with regard to having no knowledge of this debt or any communication about the debt? Is there any way that I can find out what the fine is for?
