To cut the story short i took out a loan of £200 with Cash Genie in March, i was unable to payback the loan at the end of that month, i discussed it with them then and was making partial payments of £5 towards the account, last month i was unable to make my monthly payment, they wrote to me with the £2 payment offer, which they said will waive all charges and enable me to rearrange a new manageable arrangement with them. So as i was committed to cooperating i stupidly paid the £2 and when i got paid they took £745 out of my account and they say because i did not call them to make a new payment plan with them, which i had every intentions of doing so when i had funds, on my pay day. They have been extremely unhelpful and have since offered a mere £65 refund of the charges. Which is totally unhelpful as i havnt paid my rent, travel and living expenses for the month. The loan was for £200, the interest was £480 and the charges were £65 I have spoken to the Trading Standards, they have advised to go ahead and dispute the transactions with the bank, they are looking into the matter but said they cant promise anything, and they talked about the interest being illegal. If anyone has any information that would be helpful in this situation or if anyone has had a similar situation happen to them please do let me know what the best course of action would be, im really desperate as i need to have some of my money refunded. Any advice would be appreciated.
