  1. Hi again, Thanks for your replies. Have had meetings with agent who is non compliant with any issues we have all had here...he simply says as long as he gets his rent he dont care everything else is done to us. BUT...... we have been offered a ground floor one bed flat with a garden today from the council...as for at least myself and partner, the troubles will be over!!! Thanks again Pebbles x
  2. Hi, Im hoping someone can help us with our situation. Myself and partner have two rooms in a HMO 4 bedroomed house. There are two other single tenants who each have two rooms. We share the bathroom, downstairs toilet and kitchen. One of the tenants recently was arrested and we havent seen him since so there is just mself and partner and one other tenant trying to afford the gas and electric for a huge house. (There is one pre-paid gas and electric meter for the whole house which we all put monies on) In our tenacy agreements it states that we have to put '£10 towards the cost of gas and electric weekly.' However even before the other tenant went, we were all struggling to afford the cost of the gas and electric and even more so now. On average we are putting on approx £70 mth each. My question is ...is it down to us tenants to pay more than is in the tenancy agreements? We have asked the landlords agent to help towards the cost but he refuses. We are all over 40 and most of us respectable people who unfortuneatly have ended up in a HMO property due to job redundancies etc and just simply cant afford to pay this amount of money to heat/light a house where we only realy use 2 rooms! Please Please advise us as to who should be paying the extra...us or the agent? Thanking you in advance Pebbles and co x
  3. just spoke with consumer direct they are as much use as a chocolate fireguard they told me i have to ask the landlord to tell me how much he pays for his electric, like he is gonna tell me they live in cloud cockoo land i think so much for protection of vulnererable people maybe i should just turn up at council with copy of the koran they would soon help me then disgruntled pebbles
  4. hiya i have found the relevant legislation i was just coming on to thank you guys it should be fun fronting him with the bad news (he is a bad tempered little showman) lol he tends to get violent with people who cant fight back but im not to worried cos im bigger than him lol anyway im hoping all this evidence will help me with my flat it shouldnt be to much for them to bump me a little cos im normally finishing a 10 or 12 on the bidding system anyway regards pebbles
  5. hi this is a kinda weird one but hopefully you will get the gist of it right here goes...... we live in "TEMPORARARY ACCOMADATION" ie a caravan and our electric has always been very expensive 30p per unit but the landlord has now put our meter up to 35p a unit we feel he is harrassing us cos we have put our names on the council to get a flat what can i do pebbles
  6. hiya guys she has made it very clear on phone and in writing that she disputes this debt totally when she comes home she will be doing the sar and complaining to the oft and as far as the fraud route i guess the police and whoever else will listen cos like i said in a previous post she is honest and if she owed it she would pay it end of im just worried this will make her slip further back into her depression and that would be a real shame cos she has been fighting it and getting better i dont want toerags like hfo sticking her back in the mental health unit cheers pebbles o/h
  7. i should add for pebbles that the copy of a microfiche she had back was a pre approved aplication form knowing what i know about er ex and his dodgy business partner i suspect one of them had it away on their toes with the card without her realising she had ever been granted it if so is it the fraud route cos i will do anything to protect her because she is rather vulnerable at the moment and if her ex gets nicked for fraud so be it .....pebbles o/h
  8. hi pebbles is visiting her family for the weekend ill get her to post the cca when she comes home thanks guys you are helping her a great deal she started thinkin she was finally losing the plot ....pebbles o/h
  9. OPPs have just read all that back...lots of mistakes sorry hope it makes sense x
  10. no worries brigadier thanks anyway Donkey...I recieved my first letter from HFO a few months ago and yes there is nearly £1000 interest gone onto the balance that I 'owe'. I phoned them straight away for info and told them I was sure the debt was not mine....they were extremly rude. I then phoned my ex husband to see if he remebers anything about us having a barclaycard visa..he comfirmed that we hadnt so I knew its not just my mental state at the moment. i then phone barclaycard and spoke to a very helpful woman we unfortunately imformed me that yes it was a Barclaycard Visa card and it was in my name. The last payment being 1st Feb 07 coinsided with what HFO had said and she also comfirmed that the debt had been sold to HFO back in 2007. Yes i have moved address since this but always have taken my any payments/bills with me and inform relevant companies mainly because you can never hide from them so whats the point of hiding. I am absouletly 100% sure that the card in question I did not have.....but...the application copy they have sent me is in my writing and my signiture it is not the agreement for the card it is the approved application form?????? The payments that were coming out of my bank were for (and my ex husband recalls this) was something we used to pay through my bank for his mum who actually has an account with Barclays Bank. On the experien print outs I have it also shows me as living at her address...which I never have so where has that come from???? Unfortunately since the break up of my marrige to her son we no longer talk so cannot ask her for any thing she may remember. Is it possible that they able to tie payments paid to barclays bank for something else to a card thats never been issued??? I am so lost with this...and been advised in a previous reply that my next step should be to send the £10 with the above letter(previous reply) so I can actually see what purchases have been made and where. Will they actually give that info to me????? (sorry if any spelling mistakes above typed to quick lol)
