Hi,I'm new to this group, yesterday I received a letter askin me to go for an interview under caution regarding an increase in tax credits.I'm really worried about this as I do t know what it could be about.I'm a single mother and live on my own with my son, recently I have had an increase in my rent because I did not tell the housing benefit office that I stopped paying for childcare over a year ago,I did however inform the tax credits office at the time to inform them I was no longer paying for it,however I just did not think I needed to tell them at the housing benefit office.so my rent has increased to cover this,so I thought that was all sorted.my tax credit payments have been roughly the same for the last5years so I have not had a big increase, but I'm really worried as the letter said they maybtake criminal proceedings against me and to seek legal advice before I go to the interview.can anyone give me any advice on this please.
