  1. Thanks for links, I will called in to see them next week. I just foud a website called the reviewcentre and I wish I had seen it before I went to M&S store for furniture. There are many very unhappy customers of M&S. I will never ever buy furniture from M&S again. I think I am going to have an uphil struggle with them from now on, which I would never envisage having to do with M&S furniture as I was under the impression that they had a good after sale service. HOW WRONG WAS I.......
  2. My friend purchased a small oak bookshelf from M&S which was £350.00 it was delivered before christmas, the delivery people were late despite M&S phoning saying that they would be there at a specific time, my friend signed for the delivery. He did not inspected the bookshelf very closely and left home for 10 days to visit a sick relative. When he returned he looked the bookshelf and saw unsightly marks the front of the top shelf and one of the side panels had making on other side of which was not on the other side. He phoned M&S immedately and after a lengtly concerdation with manager at store where it was purchased they said that they would have to send some one out to inspect the item and they would be in contact. Yesterday a person called from M&S to make the inspections he took photos and said that my friend was lucky to have these marking as if he went into an antique shop he would have to pay a premium for these unsightly markings. My friend said that the bookself was only just purcahsed and not a 100years old. This person from M&S also made a report which my friend would sign as it said that it was not a defect. He also told my friend that in the M&S store all bookshelf furniture are like whcih of course it not correct as my friend went to the store to check them out no marks whatsoever. Is there anything my friend can do about these marks on the item he purchased and can he insits that the take it back or replace it with another one without these markings on it.
  3. My OH wants to get all the information that his employer holds on him. In his staff handbook it says to do this he should complete the Standard Data Subject Access request which can be accessed via the Corporate Governance portal or requested from your line manager. Obviously he does not want to approach his line manager and wants accessed the Corporate Goverances portial but does not know how to do this. Is there a website this form is on.
  4. Check your insurance and see if you can put in a claim for the item. Hopefully they will be able to help.
  5. Quick question, when employer changes handbook condition does this mean that it will impacted on the employees contract condtions ie where it say in the contract to refer to handbook for clarification.
  6. Why not sent them SAR request at least this will give you an idea what docuements they are holiding about you. I think it cost £10 and takes 40 days to get it from your employer.; I would sent it to their head office rather than your place of work. Read your first post and perhaps you have done this already.
  7. Many thanks for helpful reply, going back over my nephew old employment history, he tore a ligament about 3 years ago and his employer kept harassing him to return to work this was ringing him at home daily and writing for him to go and see them for a meeting. He went to see them for a meeting on crutches after that meeting his employer ceased telephoning him at home. He went back to work despite being under the hospital for his injury. He was using crutches and at work he was expected to stand and walk without them while doing his job. While working and trying to move without the aid of his crutches he tripped and knocked his injury again, which he tells me this was very painful indeed. This meant that he had to take time off work with that injury, on top of injury. In November he noted that his employer was not paying him any SSP payments and despite asking them for a reason why they were not paying him this money they completely ignored his correspondence and telephone calls. He put in a grievance about what happened when he was forced back to work. In hte grieance the issue was maily concerning lack of support and the cavalier way manages were treating him. Also about his SSP being stopped and no explanation given to him. The outcome of that grievance was that they his employer admitted that they did not handle his retuned to work as they should have done. Also the reason his SSP was stopped was because the company has overpaid him company pay. My nephew did not agree with the company’s findings and put in an appeal and he felt that his company should be aware of their failings concerning H&S My nephew was in a union and the rep went with him to grievance hearing and the appeal hearing but that was all he did and did not give any other support. No notes that taken by the employer was given to my nephew because the union guy said it was not necessary. After the appeal hearing my nephew was concerned again about not getting copy of notes taken by employer at the hearing and he voiced after the meeting to the union rep. The union guy said well I have go such a big lot of correspondences from you I do not want any more this was suppose to be a joke from him and then he had the cheek to start him about his daughgter not being able to get a mortgage... Employer did not change attitude towards my nepohew and the union he was in at the time he should put in more grievances. My nephew had to put up with there were lots of other issues at work since then and stressing him out. However, a couple of months ago my nephew had another accident at work he was put in a new department to work in and a metal plate fell on his injured leg and been off work with it. Sending in certificate to employer and now he feels that he should do something about it as his employer is being very poor regarding H&S for their employees. I have advised him to go and see a solicitor, one that gives a free consultation and then take it from there. He cannot afford to pay solicitors fees so hopefully he will have a good case to get a NWNF solicitors to act for him on that basis.
  8. My nephew needs the assistance of a no win no fee solicitors to look at a case for him, my question is, if his he loose his case will he be liable for the cost of his solicitor and the other sides costs as well.
  9. Thanks all for help. Got my delivery this evening and i have got to give credit where it is due Amazon was got it sorted for me straight away and a wonderful delivery person got it to me. I still think though that the depot should have been sorted out for customer to be able to pick purchased up when they go there for them. Well happy and hope it works now.....
  10. Thaks for that I seen that services on Amazon website and did not take up the offer. It was annoying to go to pick up my item and after travelling so far to get it from the depot that has not got a clue how to run a business'. Surely they could have employed a few more people for christmas and get their storage sorted out. It is not like that there is a shortage of people that needs employment or some on job experiences. What is wrong with these employers now a days have they got no savvy. Organisation like this seems to out to get the punter for what ever they can for a little as possible but will not give any sort of service that would bring them more work/contracts etc. Arranging storage in alphabet or numerical order would not be difficult to do and would only take someone out of school looking for extra work for christmas to do this for them at very little cost. Rant over.....
  11. why would I have £45 deduction from my account. On amazon sit it say the item would be fee delivery so I cannot understand why a deduction of £45 comes from.............
  12. Thank you Surfer01 for reply, on the amazon website it said free delivery and I purchased on that basic but when I got to the HOME DELIVERY NETWORK LTD in Wembley today to pick up the item as I could not wait in from 8am to 8pm that was why I went there, but when they would or could not let me have my purchase, and wanted to spend anothere couple of hrs travelling to collect it tomorrow I said send it back. I want to make a complain to amazon but cannot find anywhere on their website to do this...would you know how I could make a complain to to Amazon about the company that they are using on their website as there is no contact number on their site.
  13. MYDHNL that they had called but missed me, I had no idea that they were calling to make a delivery. It as a bit of luck that the card was still there when I got home last week. Tried to get into their website to change delivery date. The site gave me alternative days for delivery but I needed to at home from 8am to 8pm or I could pick item up from there depot. Made the journey there today to depot to pick up item as I could not wait in all day for a package to be delivered. Took me an hr to get to their depot and when I got there I was told that I could not pick my item up as I had to make an appointment to do that. I said that I could not wait in all day for a delivery then she keep on saying that I did not pay for a morning or afternoon delivery but I told that the delivery was free with the order then she well what do you want to do. I travelled an hour the depot to collect my purchased and I was really getting very annoyed with this service. I was told you can either make another delivery date or come back tomorrow and pick it up or send it back. I was really cross when she come back again as I had spent an hr travelling to get it from them. I told her to send it back but I would be complaining about their service. I want to complain to Amazon but cannot find anywhere on their website to do this. Any suggestion please.
  14. Thank you for explanation, my employer did the same to me it was for 3 months reduced hrs and the reduction was not much either. Manager wanted to have a meeting first to discuss the reduced hrs but I knew that I could not work the hrs I was on due to a disability. I had to fight to get them to recognise my GP certificate. Employer did not pay for reduced hrs, they only pay some employees company sick pay and not pensioners that work for them. If my employer did not recognised my GP recommendation then I could have taken the whole time off work and maybe sacked.
