  1. Hi Rebel Thanks for the reply. I'm still trying to sort through all of his paperwork but it looks like £15-20k of debt, with around £120 per month available for repayments.
  2. Hi folks I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on a situation Its concernnig my father (now 73) - over the years he has never been 'good' with money or financial related decisions (his wife used to hold the pursestrings). and roughly every 6 months or so Myself or my sister have to get involved to sort out the mess that he is in. Recently he had gone (at recommendadation) to visit the CAB with regard to his debts. The CAB drew up a plan with his creditors for reduced payments to fit his situation (he had stopped shopping for food etc as he could not afford it etc) Unfortunatly, one or two companies (namely Barclaycard) continued to pursue the matter even referring it to a DCA. My father, who I'll admit gets very easily confused was pressured into making higher payments to them (higher by a considerable degree) Now I am looking to sort this out for him, and I intend to tell Barclaycard that he will honour the payments as stipulated by the DCA nothing more. I just wondered if they had acted illegally (I am sure it is imoral) I am also considering looking into taking a financial power of attorney, as he is getting to be his own worst enemy, but I dont know where to start Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thanks, Gary
  3. My issue has been hapily resolved, thanks again to Lee, and to vodafone as a whole for being so reasonable
  4. Hi Lee, the number I received was #4305511 Cheers, Gary
  5. WRT135 Hi all I'm looking for some advice on a matter a couple of days ago I got a copy of my credit file from Experian, on it I had a nasty suprise with a £33 default from vodafone It relates to 2009, when I moved properties I switched from vodafone to another supplier as to get a better bundle for home broadband as well as the phone I paid the last bill from vodafone, and gave them my new address and confirmed that i would not be getting any other charges I have seen though that they have registered a default against me for the £33 back in early 2009 - which they hadn't contacted me about (if they had I would have cleared it quick sharp) as i am now in a position that is not exactly credit friendly and looking to get a mortgage. so I know my first step is to get the account number and a history of the account from them which i intend to do today. I'm not too sure what my next step should be, ultimately I want to get it removed, as I feel it is unfair that they did not contact me at the time (by any method) to let me know the charge so i could get it cleared. Thanks all, Gary I have found out that the account is xxxxxxxx, relating to number xxxxxxxxxx. According to Vodafone the balance on the account is -£41 which confuses me even more about the default and the late payments. On the experian file it is still showing as an outtanding default Cheers Lee Gary
