  1. The shop has nothing to gain from this so will probably not cooperate. Are there any Laws that they have to follow if I request this? Not sure if a colleague has this correct but he was saying that if you are in a Cctv recording you have the right to request it?
  2. The shop next door is a jewellery shop with multiple stores across the country. So I am sure they would have followed any Cctv guidelines. 1. since I am in the video can I ask them to release it if they don’t cooperate? 2. Would it be a valid compensation claim in small claims court? Just thinking if I should put it down to experience and let it go or take them to court for the costs. I am actually quite angry about their lies.
  3. I had senior technicians out from my local water board to guide me on where to lay the trench pipes for a new water connection. I spent £800 getting it done from one of their recommended plumbers. The waterboard came to install it and could not get the pipes from the road to the front door so called their senior most guy who was livid why we had done it this way. He would not accept the fact that it was his guys that had guided us to get it done this way. He told us to do it another way which is a completely different job so will end up costing me £1,200 more. The two technicians that came out from the water board have now told their senior manager that they never guided me to do it the way we have. They are refusing to compensate me the £800 installation charges for the wrong advice from their team. Nothing was written and it was all verbal however this was a city centre location and the location we discussed the installation is covered by cctv from the shop next door and they have sound on the video. Is there anything I can do? If I get the video from the shop can I use that in court? Normally I wouldn't mind but I am getting blamed for doing the job wrong when I was guided by their team and due to their misinformation I can't rent out the property for another 3 months now. It was meant to be rented 1st November (tenancy signed) and I will end up loosing £2,500 a month.
  4. Yeah thats another issue. I have signed up for finance which has also now gone up by 2%. I haven't touched base with the finance company yet as I wanted to get a legal view in regards to this. My finance installment will be 20% more a month which could also mean they would need to go back to basics and request my information again. They did confirm to me a few months back that my finance approval and APR is valid for one year (due to the wait on the car) Nothing in writing though.
  5. Well it’s been a while. Maybe 2-3 months since the price increase and they haven’t informed me yet. I have been in touch with them 6-7 times via email to get updates on car status.
  6. Yep. Huge waiting lists and plenty of people happy to pay the new price. Just disappointing for me as I really wanted the car but the higher price means I will have to look for another car. Do they not have to inform me about the price rise though? Or is that only upon delivery?
  7. Unfortunately Land Rover isn’t desperate. Think they have around a years wait right now. The price went up by 4k around 2-3 months back. I just found out myself yesterday. They haven’t informed me yet though. I have been in regular communication with the dealer. Wanted to know what the scene is before I touch base with them.
  8. Ordered a Land Rover in March and had finance for PCP approved and deposit paid. Waiting since then and unfortunately the car price has now gone up. Their terms do state this Is there anything I can do or just suck it up and pay the higher price?
  9. So he is allowed to do that? I will just find myself a new dealer I guess. Thanks for your reply.
  10. I negotiated a price of a used car with an official dealer yesterday and he sent me a finance rate today which was 2% higher then I can get through a private broker. I told him I would rather buy the car cash but he says for cash I need to pay 2k more. Can he do that?
  11. As you advised. Sent them a letter before action with the guidance received in post 36. They advised they have requested the charges back and would forward in due course which they have now forwarded to me.
  12. They are now saying I will get the funds within a week. So looks like its all good. Any further issues I will make sure to upload the agreement but hopefully this matter is now finished. Once again I thank you and Aequitas for your assistance. Honestly you both have been so helpful.
  13. I am glad to say they have responded and will pay the rent. They have raised a dispute and once they get the money back they will pay me. Not sure how long this could take as they are now in 2 months arrears. I would like to thank the both of you for your help. Both gave fantastic guidance.
  14. Ok I am currently travelling for work and should be back home by the weekend. Will scan and upload then? I haven't sent the SAR yet but was aiming to get it out in the post today.
  15. Sorry, I would rather not do that. I don't really want to get them out as they have 3 more years left and other than roof they pay for all repairs. So as long as I keep on top of any further roof repairs its a decent contract. So if they fail to reply then I am assuming that I need to MCOL them for unpaid rent and then let the judge decide who is right or wrong?
  16. I have already sent them a notice before action asking similar questions to what is posted by Stu above. Given them 14 days to respond. What should my next step be? Ideally I don't want to get them out as they pay their rent fine otherwise. Should it be a MCOL for the rent?
  17. I have not issued a AST to anyone else in the property. Only contract I have signed is with the the Mears who state they will be putting Asylum seekers in the property. Are you suggesting that Mears then make a separate contract with the tenant and sign it as the landlord themselves? It says this in the contract
  18. I have spoken with the downstairs tenants who can't recall any work having been done. Requested the paperwork and have heard nothing back. Have asked them to clarify why did they get the rood fixed without informing me. They only informed me that the flat roof was leaking. According to the terms of the AST they need to inform me and give me 5 days notice. No reply.
