  1. Hi, I've got a problem that i would appreciate a bit of advice on. After paying my kids through uni and all the other bills associated with bringing up kids as I'm sure you're all aware about I resolved to kill all my debt so I could start saving for my retirement. I consolodated all my credit onto virgin credit card to take advanyage of the 0% offer. I have £10000 worrth of debt.. It cost me £290... arrangement fee which I was happy to pay because I have a plan to pay the debt off in 14 months. Everything went well. This was three months ago. I paid my monthly payments in June and july paying £400.00 each month as part of my debt reduction. I admit at this pont I didn't check my statements. When I went in to pay this month's bill I expected to see my debt reduced by the 800 pounds I had paid previously. I was shocked to se the debt had hardly moved. Checking my statements I saw I had been charged inteest each month totalling £750 added to my arrangement fee it means virgin have charged me £1070 over the last three months. I called them about this and was told because I had missed my payment dates the offer had been withdrawn and I had been put onto a normal account. When taking the card out I asked for my payment dates to be put back to the end of the month and assumed this was done. The help centre refused to put me back on the )% deal insisting they6 can only put me on a 1.9% deal I am absolutely furious about this, having over a £1070 taken from me is money I can't afford. I admit I broke the terms by missing my payment window and that I should have read them more closely but I feel cheated. I paid nearly £300.00 for a service I have not had. I've wrote a leter to virgin complaining but don't hold out much hope. I'm so furious about this that I'm seriously considering refusing to pay until they give me my money back. i've always paid my debts but feel strongly that I've been robbed. Do you think taking a stand and refusing to pay is a good idea. What would the consequencies be? Thanks
