I am in the process of trying to get a default from vodafone removed from my credit file. I used to have a 12 month SIM contract but i canceled it when i believed it had run out. Apparently there was a 30 day cancellation due which i was unaware of.Therefore i had an outstanding balance to pay which i didn't know about. In the meantime we moved address ( new telephone new email etc). After this Vodafone had been sending letters to my old address to try and contact me.I became aware of the problem when i was refused credit and then looked at my credit file.Immediatly i contacted vodaphone and paid it off .I Explained the situation to Vodafone and they said that although they agree i had made an genuine mistake the default was still valid, as it reflected my credit history. The amount was for £62 - ( the SIM was actually unused for the last 10 months so it was not a case of unpaid usage on the card) a small amount to have affecting my credit file.In fact it is having i believe a disproportionate effect on my credit rating. Can anyone help please ?Rictic
