  1. Small potatoes really, only £108, £33 of that is for standing charge. Its just that standing charge is a bit steep i think.
  2. I was caught for about 3 weeks between contracts. The old supplier was british gas. Today they sent me their final bill, the problem i find with it is the standing charge, it is £1.16p per day, is that exessive. I do have some paperwork that suggests the standing charge out of contract is around 46p per day. This is a micro business. Do i ring them up and ask what is going on or take it on the chin regards to all
  3. Nothing hs been sent in writing many thanks
  4. Does pm work from my end as i have tried to send one, but need 15 posts for it to work, anyway have found this off another site, part of elite t&c's 20.1 This contract may be terminated in writing by either you or us for convenience by giving notice within 30 days of the end of minimum period or any renewal period.
  5. Ahh yes this bit Also check how much notice you will need to give your provider before you cancel your service. This should never be longer than 30 days. Why oh why are they on about 90 days, oh yes to trip up the unsuspecting general public to screw them for another year I may take you up on that offer, as i aint the brightest in that department
  6. 3.2 Unicom may vary its Rate Schedule in accordance with clause 9.6, but subject to the Customer’s right to terminate referred to at clause 8.1(d). 9.6 Unicom may change the terms and conditions of this Agreement upon giving 14 days notice 8.1(d) until in the event that changes in the Rate Schedule in any one calendar year increase the average Usage Charges by more than a cumulative total of 10 per cent over the increase in the Retail Price Index, and the Customer has given notice to terminate within 14 days of the date of the notice of variation. Thanks for all your help, they told me that if i wanted to terminate now it would cost me £250, chargeable to may 2013, i told them i diddent understand that because the year may 2012 to 2013 hasent even started yet, sorry for the big print.

  8. Hi I was one of those poor unfortunates that got a 5 year contract with elite calls On the 21st of may this year that ends, in november elite calls were taken over by a company called unicom. I wish to jump ship, i thought plenty of time for a 30 day notice given in my original contract, in what became a heated argument unicom have stated their rules state a 90 day notice, they have changed my original contract without me ever agreeing to it So as you all would imagine i have hit a brick wall. I have never read their terms and conditions and dont know even where to find them. Is there any way i can get rid of them or do i have to wait until next febuary and by that time they will change it to 120 days to stuff us all yet again, looks like out of the frying pan and into the fire. advise would be welcome
  9. Thanks for that mate The 2007 contract does say the contract shall automatically renew for periods of 12 months unless terminated within1 month prior in writing And the early termination fee was £82.32 + vat then, £395 + vat now By rights the 2007 contract should still apply I had a letter from them stating that they upgraded the broadband to unlimited in 2009 and that is 12 month periods What on earth are they playing at, the first chance i get it will be goodnight vienna
  10. Originally i think it was a yearly thing, i rang them today, they said i had a 60gb cap, so 27gig over the top, thats 87gig, i told them the broadband was unlimited and i have that in writing, this pc has only an 80 gig hard drive, how on earth can i put 87 gig of stuff on that,so a con They said that their broadband team will ring me back Guess what, it never happened
  11. I was one of the unfortunate fools who joined elite calls, it was back in 2007, a horrible series of events has occured since then, in spring 2008 a line fault resulted in no phone or internet and probable lost buisness for almost 2 months, crackling on the line to start with and totally dead after a while, it took a lot of persuasion with elite to act, but eventually they did, and still charged me full rate for little or no service, and that really annoyed me. A year later their cheepo router packed in, thats the one they charged me 49 quid for and said it was still theirs, daylight robbery, they sent out a replacement as the the originals warrenty was up, what a suprise !!(via telecomplete)and wanted 25 quid for that, i sent it back and told them where they could stick it !!! The latest one is possibly the worst, my latest monthly bill, added to it is a charge "broadband adsl 27gb usage fee £40.50" and another "overcharge for gb usage £40.50", i know i watch i player a bit, and download odd episodes of csi i have missed as i work shifts, this is getting too much for me, has anybody got any advice, i cant afford the 400 quid to leave them, it says 82 quid in the contract, thats some price hike isent it, in 2007 it was supposed to be a 12 month roll on contract, i got a suprise when i got in touch with them to end it in 2008 it was 5 years. 5 years of hell I am afraid that if i wrote what i really think of them it would result in an immediate ban regards to all
