Excellent thank you. Do you think I should report him to the Police now?

Well. The good news is that Barclays are confident that they can recover the money. Free Ads have been fantastic and actually sent someone over the the Isle of Wight to go to the address given. They are speaking to Action Fraud as well to give them information on adverts that they have found on other sites for the same item (amounts others). The only issue I have now is, do I make an allegation of theft directly to the police? I guess that this would be "obtaining money by deception".

I don't think that this is them. The name of the person i dealt with was Phillip R Torrance. They were in Sandown on the Isle of Wight as well. Didn't know I could do that

Hi Everyone, its been a while since I posted on here (maybe that's a good thing). Last week I purchased an outboard motor online from a company called Solent Boat Sales on the Isle of Wight. They had a good website and seemed very efficient at the time. They made an appointment to come and deliver the motor, which was arranged via the same email address that the invoice came from ([email protected]). The appointment time came and went with no one showing up, and no contact from them. I tried to call them, but the message just said "Solent boat

Welcome Credit Agreement-Figures wrong-Enforceable?
Jonny_J replied to Jonny_J's topic in Welcome Finance
A quick update: After sending the Conc 7 letter, which was signed for and received by Robinson Way, I have now received a letter from Hoist Finance saying: We refer to your recent communication in which you made a complaint regarding the above account. Please be advised that our investigations are still ongoing and we will be in a position to issue a response to you once our enquiries are complete, no more than four weeks time from now. Should I be expecting them to try some sneaky trick or can I ignore this. I don't remember ever making a 'complaint' so I'm a little concerned- 44 replies

Welcome Credit Agreement-Figures wrong-Enforceable?

Good news (I think). Although I sent the CONC 7 letter on Saturday (which was signed for by "Alexander" yesterday morning (Monday), I received a letter from Robinson Way yesterday saying: "We acknowledge your recent communication and write to inform you that the account to which you're referring is now closed on our files." However, it also says: "We will pass any relevant documentation/information that you have sent on to our client to deal with accordingly. For your future reference, our client can be contacted at the following address: HFUKH1L (Ex Welcome Finance Limited)- 44 replies

Hi All, Its been a while since I have had to post on here, but you have all been so helpful in the past and an old debt from 2006 has reared its ugly head again. The original debt was a £3000 unsecured loan that I took out with Welcome Finance in 2003. In 2006, the debt was re-written to lower my payments due to difficulties our family were having because of illness. I have checked the last statement that I have for this debt, and the last payment, or acknowledgement of the debt was on 29th May 2008. Since then, out of desperation I have asked for a copy of the CCA, which- 44 replies

Four weeks ago, we secured a new home in an area where Virgin Media don't offer any services. This is a shame because we have enjoyed their service for the past 11 years. We let them know straight away that we would no longer require their services and they told us that they would send us three bags with cable plugs so that we could cap the cables and return the two set top boxes and router that we have. This took two weeks and when the bags turned up there was one bag big enough for the router and one cap. We let them know instantly and they said that this was a common problem

Help please. I have been a victim of fraud
Jonny_J replied to Jonny_J's topic in Telecoms - mobile or fixed
They said that their fraud department would tell me what to do with it. Its been blocked now anyway so its no good to me. She asked if there was an O2 shop near to me, so I guess I will have to take it there and get a receipt for it. If anyone comes to the door I'll get photos of them and their vehicle. -

Just made a report to 'Action Fraud' who say that social media is to blame for the vast majority of this type of fraud. She said that because people have their birthdays on there, it is very easy for people to make credit applications. The next port of call for fraudsters it the electoral register, a small fee can get you everything you need by all accounts. With regard to the Police, I will try to get hold of them, but spent nearly 1 1/2 hours trying that last night to no avail. -

I have just spoken to O2 who confirmed that this is definitely fraud. They have barred the sim card and the handset. Now I just need to sort out the identity theft issue.
