  1. This is a complicated story but I really need some help. Two and half years ago my husband suddenly dropped dead. He was only 50 and we had only been married six years and we worked abroad running our own small business. So when he died I lost my business partner as well as my husband and my business hasn't traded since as I have been so depressed following his death. He didn't leave a will and when everything had gone through probate there was £6000 left of which half went to pay his funeral expenses. We have a house in the UK which passed directly to me, it has a large mortgage which I have managed to keep paying even though that used up all my savings. I was very sick for a long time, totally unable to make decisions due to the shock but eventually I put the UK house up for sale and it failed to sell. By this time I was running out of money and despite reducing the house price by over 100 thousand it didn't sell. Basically it is now worth only the value of the mortgage. Eventually I put the house for rent and now it has tenants and this covers the mortgage and leaves me £400 a month to live on. My husband left credit card debts when he died and his estate couldn't afford to settle them and now, two years later the credit card company are chasing me for the debt. I don't even know the extent of the credit card debt he left but I don't have anything left to give any creditors, I live abroad because I can't afford to live in the UK and the £400 a month I clear from the rental of my house supports me and is my only income. I'm really scared that the credit card company will do something to my UK house and this will jeopardise my renting the house or drive off my tenants and take away my final source of income. Please can anyone advise on how these companies treat widows and can they do anything to my UK home or my home overseas which is mortgage free and outside of the EU. Thanks
