  1. At all? What incentive then there is to pay the debt? Halifax default will go, but Lowell keep reporting to credit agency every month as still owed.
  2. I have already claimed from Halifax years ago unfair direct debit charges. Done and dusted.
  3. Does Halifax as part of my SAR have to provide documents related to sale of my debt to Lowell?
  4. Yes, ICO page has address, but bank`s webpage has a different one
  5. Where should I post my SAR? Two different addresses: https://ico.org.uk/ESDWebPages/Entry/Z7828948 https://www.halifax.co.uk/securityandprivacy/privacy/ SAR template contains this: [now go read post 3 of the sar thread on what info to put to ENSURE you get ALL the info you need - dx] I checked post 3 on SAR thread, but there is no info on this? Because I have moved since then, I will add copy of council tax bill. Should I also add copy of passport? Might save time if they ask for copy of ID.
  6. That means I have two not three default markers: - Callcredit, Lowell, 24.06.2014 - Equifax, Lowell, 24.06.2014
  7. There are few detauls now across all three credit agencies as per screenshots above. Which defauls will vanish? Halifax June 2014 Lowell April 2016, September 2015/2016 Lowell June 2014 What do you mean what is reclaimable? Will prepare SAR today and post it on Tuesday. Thank you.
  8. Hi all, Some years ago I had Halifax bank account wih big overdraft limit. Due to financial difficulties I had to use it all and couldn`t pay it back. Now I`m back on track and willing to clear that debt. Lowell has been sending me letters to pay it off, even when I moved - they tracked me down via credit referencing agency. I phoned Halifax, but they said I need to contact Lowell as debt has been sold. But I don`t want to pay any money to parasites like Lowell, I`d rather pay back the bank I took money from. 1. Can Lowell run searches on my credit file without my consent? 2. Can bank refuse to accept my money? 3. Can Lowell report to my credit file every month this debt as per screenshots below? If they carry on, 6 years never going to past and it won`t dissapear of my file. Any advice? Thank you. I have got all three credit files - Callcredit, Equifax and Experian. These are screenshots regarding Halifax and Lowell.
  9. I have never received court summons, only summons to visit Civic Centre. They have made no levies on any goods as they never made entry and I have no goods outside.
  10. Hello guys, I moved into this flat where I`m living now October 2010, since I moved in never paid council tax as I didn`t have money. Council kept sending reminders etc until I got summons, but not court, just to visit civic centre. Ignored. Then bailiffs Bristow Sutor left me a hand delivered note in postbox of their visit. Ignored. One more delivered, more threatening. Ignored. Told my wife not to open doors, close windows, do not answer doors. I keep my car few streets away. Installed fake CCTV camera on the door with flashing LED and attached WARNING GUARD DOG sticker on the doors. But my landlord would kick me out if I didn`t pay, so I somehow got all the money and paid whole amount directly to council. So BS delivered this via Royal Mail: http://imageshack.us/f/97/71687386.jpg/ What do I do now and how do I get rid of them? I know they cannot do anything, but my wife is scared of them. Should I ask for CCJ and then tell them its fake and there was no real court hearing etc and therefore they have no grounds for asking money?
  11. Cannot afford that money. Even I could, there is no guarantee I will get it back from seller. It will cost more to take to court.
  12. They are known, big brand, government approved - why not? I`ve got RAC. How much they would charge to come and inspect my car?
  13. Are you joking? Main dealer will charge arm and leg for such inspection £100 per hour minimum. I`m thinking KwikFit - I got one locally. They should be able to produce detailed inspection report.
  14. Phoned VOSA, "Because its been more than 28 days since MOT, we cannot do anything about this MOT". This system is made for abuse and car sellers/MOT garages know all loopholes.
  15. Just phoned him. He said "Go to garage, get proper report for all problems and quote and send it to us".
  16. I`ll give him a call today and see what he says, mentioning that I will be passing this case to VOSA & Trading Standards if he doesn`t agree on repair in garage within 10 miles where I live.
  17. Cash and I do have full, proper invoice for it.
  18. I already put road tax on it and bought insurance so I can drive it. I`ll loose that if I reject it.
  19. I`m willing to give him opportunity to fix it, but 200 miles isn`t 20. That will be 4.5 hrs to garage, overnight stay(or 2?), 4.5hrs from garage, two days lost wages. I cannot afford it. Does that mean I`m stuck do to it myself? My first idea was reporting him to VOSA, but then he might go "Well, you reported me already, so I won`t fix anything, no point". I want to keep a car as I really like it, it took me 2 months to find it. I had similar case, law has ZERO power, its useless, it doesn`t work. I bought car, it died in two weeks, trader didn`t bother replying, I sued, he didn`t turn up to hearing, I won, got CCJ, transferred to High Court Enforcement, they went around trader, ups, sorry A1 XXXXX XXXX isn`t here any more, we are A6 XXXX XXXX company, bye. Just by changing one digit in company name, nothing can be done to them. As for expenses recovery via court, waste of time. I have lost £140 in court fees, time off work, £60 to send around bailiffs +£60 for non recovery paid to bailiffs. Well, can`t afford to go same route this time.
  20. 4 days ago bought a car from trader, 200 miles away from where I live. On my way back I heard some knocking noise coming from front, nothing disturbing. Next day I checked MOT history online and turns out this car failed MOT in March with long list of things. This trader runs his own MOT garage as well, so he gave it new MOT in April, signed himself. I took car to local garage yesterday and they checked it - list is even longer, lot of things need to be repaired totalling £300 and there is no way this car would have passed MOT, basically is fraudulent MOT. I`ve got quote for repairs and willing to contact seller. Problem is - he will be willing to repair it in his garage(I hope so), but its 200 miles away. Its lost days/two wages +travelling costs. Where do I stand? Can I get him to appoint me to any local garage where I live by his choice? Thanks
  21. They replied with this: Thank you for getting in touch. Credit Agreement: Barclaycard Centre (I) / XXXXXXXXXXXX3000 This account was satisfied on the 03/02/2005 and will remain on your credit until 03/02/2011. Credit Agreement: xxxx (I) / XX1498 This account was satisfied on the 24/09/2005 and will remain on your credit until 24/09/2011. Credit agreement information remains on your credit report for a period of six years from the date that the account was settled or defaulted, which ever occurs first. I hope you find this useful. If there’s anything else we can do for you, please let us know. Kind regards Equifax Customer Services
  22. Hi guys, I have following defaults on my file: Default for 1832£ on 25/05/2003, settled on 03/02/2005. Barclaycard. Default for 145£ on 04/03/2003, settled on 24/09/2005. Three mobile. Default for 24£ on 31/05/2007, settled on 07/02/2008. Virgin Media. When do they expire - when placed on file or settled? If first two are expired, how do I get them removed? Send letter to Equifax or to company who placed it? Is there a special template for such a letter? Thank you.
