Hello all again - heres the update on this and im a little confused now on what to do... have been given a hire car and have had this since 15th of last month... now the accident managment company have been intouch with me weekly and I have sent them all relevent documents, was informed that the 3rd party ins comp was offering me £3800 and if i was to take my car back i would need to pay £304 but if i didnt want the car they would pay me £304? this firstly didnt make sense to me as i own the car still regardless of its state. secondly they now tell me i must give the hire car back next week but i have not been issued with the cheque yet and I have said I am not happy with the amount and have sent them all the information to back my increase in the valuation to them as they requested.... what do I do as if its not increased I cant get a like for like car and also if they take there car back I will have no car to get to work so will be forced to take there offer just to get a car... some one please give me some advice!! thanks

Hello every one, and before I say much more can I just say what a great and useful site!! As my name kinda hints my car was just written off by a careless driver who crashed into my parked car. unfortunatly I dont think they will offer me the total cost back for the car, the car was bought for £5995 almost 2 years ago and has just had a engine rebuild and was in tip top form. When i spoke to the Insurance comp they said that they use the glass guide to get a bench mark for the car then look for defults to lower the price... NEVER increase it... the car had all the modcons and have searched autotrader and ebay to try find another one to get a price comp, but with no joy! I was also informed that as the baby car seat was in the car that they need the reciept for it as that needs to be replaced. but i cant find it anywhere!! I have looked on here and sen that alot of people have to fight to get the true vaule for the car back. They have issued me with a courtesy car and if im not happy with the offer and end up fighting for the true vaule will they take the car back as I need a car for work... any info would be greatly welcomed.
