  1. Hi Steve Do you still have the compliment slip with the measurements on? If you have that you might stand a chance but you will have to go to small claims court to prove all of this. The Problem is because they have not clearly stated the measurements on the invoice and just put a corner unit they try every possible way to get away with it because they are taking your trust and you the customer are trusting them. The Attitude you have describe sounds very familiar, First thing you need to do is put it in writing to the Manager at the Shop and explain the situation of the corner unit, that it was not the correct one you ordered in size and give him 7 working days for a reply or even 5, await for the reply and see what happens then, Then if you get no reply send another letter telling them you are going to take them to small claims court and charge them for storing a corner settee of no used to you and all the cost for all correspondents and time of work and anything else as long as it is reasonably to the small claims court and also the court costs too. I bet you as soon as the court date will appear they will cough up and collect or produced the correct goods, don't forget keep all copies off correspondents and also send them to the credit card company as they can freeze payment and interest on the amount that's bee charge to you, hope all this Help's. By the way, was the Manager White, Blond Hair, not short a bit long and Blue Eyes, smart wearing a shirt and Trousers with a London accents ? All the Best Good Luck.
  2. Hi Steve if you have paid for the whole item then you are more secured then you think. First of all contact them on phone and put a copy of the conversation in writing by recorded delivery explaining this item is not the correct item you have ordered which should state on your invoice. Give them a week notice noticed to come and collect the furniture and deliver the correct goods. If they give you a date good, if they start getting funny with you, just tell them if the goods have not been collected and the correct goods received you will be charging storage fees and inconvenient fee's, that's if it get's to that stage be very persistent. Contact Trading Standards for further advice and also send a copy letter to your credit card company explaining you have received the wrong goods and proof with it, your Credit Card company should be able to help you under the Consumer Credit Act, as long as you have not paid by cash you should be fine, it's just all the inconvenience that comes with unfortunately, make sure all correspondence is copied and sent recorded delivery. I did drove past the Store today in B-ham and it does have the New Name on it, but I am sure it's the same People that's doing it as their web site does not show any furniture how strange is that. All the Best, Good Luck
  3. It wouldn't surprise me if they are the same as Exclusive Leather Sofa's have also been known by Land of Leather and used the same paperwork from the Stories, that I have been reading on here. To me it sounds like they have done it again, used a different name and still using the same paper work. If you are unsure asked who the Manager is off the Shop and try and see if it matches the Manager there before, also isn't it strange why, they are using a different name on there heading and not the name of the Shop, I would make enquiries about this that to the Shop, because it is a leading binding Contract between you the Customer and the Shop unless they are stating they are ELS (what does it stand for in their terms?) and where does it stand for you in the long run? I would personal seek some advice of Trading Standards and as for there web site, they state they are opening a branch in Birmingham on Camp Hill God Help them if they are the same People. Sorry to give you this feed back, or play it safe and try and resolve your three corner suit unless they get nasty with you. All the Best of Luck :mad2:
  4. It is a shame that they are getting away with Blue Murder, we are fortunate we got our Money back, but like you and me, it's all about the Principle. How they can get away with it and keep on doing the same [problem] no matter which name they are using. I thought they might be at least be on Watchdog, but no who do I come across is DFS, I think I would give DFS more credit then what Mr Lord has done to all us hard working people. Well it goes to show if you don't fit the Picture they don't want to know, no matter how many have complained, but I'm sure they have research team for that.
  5. That's Brilliant News :whoo::whoo::whoo:

  8. Hi, I am glad people are stating to get their money back, but our Bank is giving us the run around, we sent a letter to them and ELS disputing the discrepancy about them over charging us on the delivery charge before we knew they were going into receivership. Now that they have gone into receivership we have put a letter in writing to the Banks to try and claim all cost back under section 75, we are having difficulties, as they don't seemed to be bothered eg. responding in the time scale given by the letter and then telling us we will received a deceleration form in the post, to sign which we haven't, but they gladly told us they are inundated with cases regarding the Travel Industries, I am sure they are, but that does not help me in the slightest. I don't want to sound mean I am just at the end of my tether will us of this, the Receiver ship for Exclusive Leather Sofas are in Birmingham in Cannon House, Priory Square, I believe they are going to take People Names by Monday or Tuesday next week as they told me to ring back then. Hey Trading Standards you could of posted that for us? :-(

Administrators are not going to be known until the 20th September or their after. EXCLUSIVE LEATHER SOFAS LIMITED A winding up petition has been lodged at the High Court in relation to Exclusive Leather Sofas Ltd. As far as we are aware the company has four outlets located at:- Birmingham (Camp Hill), Derby, Luton and Cannock; with Cannock being the head office. All of these stores have ceased to trade. The petition will be heard at Manchester High Court on 20 September 2010. If the company is wound up an insolvency practitioner will be appointed. It is the insolvency practitioner who will sort out the financial affairs of the company and it is to this person that any complaints about Exclusive Leather Sofas should be addressed. When we know who the insolvency practitioner is we will update this web page accordingly. In the meantime, if you have purchased your furniture on finance and it has not been delivered you should write a letter to the finance company explaining the situation, please remember to send this by recorded delivery. The finance company should then release you from the agreement and refund any monies already paid to them. If your complaint has not been resolved or you paid cash for your furniture you should still contact the insolvency practitioner so that you may be put on the list of potential creditors. The practitioner will then, after paying the main creditors such as the banks and utilities, use any monies which are left over to refund customers. It made it on the Central News a couple of days ago, if everyone keeps on reporting their story to Actionfraud.co.uk, Consumers Direct, Birmingham Trading Standards and also the Media, we might get more publicity, How about it folks.
  10. I have checked them all out, unless I am missing one and they are all coming up as closed Warehouse and Empty Stores. Paid a visit to the Warehouse on St Andrews Road in Birmingham closed down been gone for months I'm told, they have giving a bad reputation in the area to other companies around there. It seems to me they have registered themselves under the Warehouses and Store Addresses trying to be clever not for long. :mad2:
  11. All these adresse that have been put on here are only the Store adresses and the Warehouses, not their private adresses unfortunatley.
  12. That's the Store address in Birmingham.

  21. Hello I am sorry to hear that there are more and more Customer's just like me that have paid by Credit Card and those that have paid by cash. I have been down to the Store in Birmingham and confirmation has been given by the other branches next to ELS that they have gone into Administrations. These are some advice I can only share through my own experience that I am going through now. 1.) If you have paid by Credit Card, contact your Credit Card Company and inform them of the situation and they will asked you to get confirmation of a Letter of a Liquidation/Termination Letter from the Administrator's to confirm they have gone into Administration also contact Trading Standards. 2.) If you have paid by Debit Card also contact your Bank for further advice and Trading Standards, they will be able to advise you which next step to take. 3.) If you have paid by Hire Purchased, you need to contact the Hire Purchased Company and prove that you have not receive the goods and also contact Trading Standards. 4.) If you have made the purchased by cash or a deposit you will need to claim of the Administrator and also contact Trading Standards. Please register your complaints to Trading Standards as it would give them more evidence of what Exclusive leather Sofa has done and they can pass your details onto the Administrator once they have been informed giving us the Customer a chance to get our money back. Good Luck to everyone
  22. Thank You for getting back to me. A lot of customers are going to be very angry or are already that, I'm one of them. Thank You for replying. Hope you having Good Luck getting your money back. :mad2:
  23. Hi Can I just check is this the Birmingham Branch in Camp Hill that is closed down, not the one in Cannock?
  24. Hello Money4justice I would wait for next week until you received your goods, then I would send them a recorded delivery letter explaining your original delivery date and explained they have failed to delivery the order on time and you have given them extra reasonable time to deliver the goods and asked for a refund giving them a months notice, which is reasonable and await till then for your refund. I must stressed if they offer you a credit note or other furniture within in the store, please do not except if you do except you are unable to get a full refund only a difference in price you paid and sometimes not even that, basically you are waving your trump card away. If they don't reply, the only next step is the small claims court or Trading Standards, or even credit card company if you have paid with card, make sure you keep a copy of everything. Lets hope you have some good luck
  25. How can we stop a company like this, it seems they have been getting away with it for years, Not many people know about this website, I happen to come across it by chance. There must be watchdog or something?
