would these agreements be acceptable in a court of law ?

hi i wonder if anyone can help me with this , a very well known debt company have been chasing my wife for an alleged debt for some while now , they have sent a copy of a credit agreement which was barely legible, so we asked them to send proof of the deed of assignment which they have failed to do , we got a letter from them saying that they only need to send a notice of assignment, now the way i see it is that if a company are telling my wife that she owes them thousands of pounds , i think that the onus is on them to provide us with proof that they have accuired this debt , can anyone advise please thanks

Hi CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME ON AN ALLEGED DEBT WITH LOWELL, WE HAVE ASKED LOWELL TO SUPPLY US WITH THE DETAILS OF WHEN THE ALLEGED LOAN WAS PAID INTO OUR BANK ACCOUNT , ALSO ON THE CREDIT AGREEMENT IT SAYS THAT AN ADVANCE OF 100 POUNDS WAS SENT TO OUR HOME ADRESS , SO WE ASKED WHO DELIVERED IT AND WHEN?, WE HAVE JUST RECEEIVED A LETTER FROM LOWELL STATING THAT THE ORIGINAL CREDITOR HAS NOT GOT THAT INFORMATION BELEIVE ME OR NOT BUT WE DO NOT REMEBER THIS LOAN SO WE ARE TRYING TO GET AS MUCH INFO AS POSSIBLE BEFORE EVEN CONSIDERING ANY PAYMENT, ANY HELP WOULD BE GRATEFULY RECEIVED:madgrin:

hi yes it is on my cra file they went quiet for 6 months when i asked them for proof that this loan was paid into our bank account the they just sent another copy of the credit agreement

hi can anyone advise on this, i recently asked for a copy of a credit agreement which i took out in 2002, what i actually received was someone elses agreement complete with all their bank account details and phone number ,now in my mind that amounts to a serious breach of customer confidentiality,any advice on how i should react tot this? thanks latics

hi brigadier it is a scan of the doc which they sent to me ,it is pretty bad quality and i dont think all the terms and conditions are there, also is it their responsibility to send a deed of assignment ,if ,as they say ,they have purchased the debt thanks for your help latics
