  1. Hi rebel11 Thanks very much for a very quick and helpful response, I really appreciate it.
  2. I purchased a pair of jeans online from Krusoe, the original price was £90 with free postage offered above £70, so I didn't need to pay any delivery charge. The jeans didn't fit, so I arranged to return them and did so at my own expense of £3.87, which I accepted. When the cost of the jeans was refunded to me via Paypal, I was only given £80, so in effect it cost me £13.87 and I ended up with nothing for it. When I looked further into their refund policy, it stated that they would deduct the cost of the original postage if items were returned which qualified for free delivery. The highest delivery charge they had was £5 for goods up to £70, so where the £10 came from, I do not know and as I mentioned, it only cost me £3.87 with a signature to return it. Does anyone know if I have any rights to claim for a full refund?
  3. Hi I think I have made the same mistake. I have included charges that were for called unauthorised overdraft charge on a monthly basis (£28), in addiiton to the individual charges for each failed item - can these be claimed or will I have to take them off? Also, I have received a letter saying Nat West are defending the claim and the Solicitors have sent me a list of things that they want me to send them - are these all included in the Court bundle? I have got very nervous about this now and I presume that is what Nat West are hoping for, but I don't want to give up and lose the court £120 fees as well. Any help with a Nat West claim will be gratefully accepted. Thanks Theresa
  4. Does anyone know if there is any action that can be taken if you are caught speeding by a Policeman with a hand held camera? My partner was stopped yesterday and was told he was doing 45 miles an hour in a 40 mile zone. He knows he was not doing this as his speedometer was showing 42 miles at the time and he also had a sat nav in the car which indicated he was actually doing 39 miles per hour. The police aren't going to prosecute him for this, they just asked him to produce his documents, but it did make me wonder whether we just had to accept whatever the police say when we are caught speeding in this way, without having any evidence to show what the actual speed was. Thanks very much. Theresa
  5. Hi I am about to put in a court claim against Halifax plc to reclaim my bank charges, is it okay to add further charges to this claim that have been added since I sent the spreadsheet and letters to the Halifax, or will I need to start a separate claim for these? Also, am I right in thinking that I just submit the claim form to the court first without any additional information, e.g. letters sent etc.? Thanks for your help.
  6. Hi I'm wondering if someone could give me advice on work my boyfriend has had done on his BMW 520? His car was overheating whilst on the M6, so he pulled off the motorway and called the AA. They found that it was leaking water and the AA man suggested it could have either been a faulty hose or the water bottle. The car needed an MOT anyway so he took it to a local garage and asked if they could check out what the fault was. They had the car for the day and said it was the radiator, but they couldn't do it then, so he would have to bring it back another day, which he did. He left it with the garage for the full day again, but told them that he definitely needed it back as he had to travel to Kent the following day to see his daughters (he lives in Cheshire). When he went to collect it they told him that they hadn't managed to get the radiator, but that they would definitely have it by the following day. The following day, when he went to collect it, they had replaced the radiator, but said that wasn't what the problem was, it was actually the head gasket that had gone, but that he had also needed the radiator anyway. They agreed that he could just pay £200 for the radiator instead of the £250 he had been quoted, but they couldn't fix the head gasket there so he would need to take it to another garage. He was absolutely fuming at this and more so because they hadn't phoned to tell him before they fitted the radiator that the head gasket had gone. Does anyone know whether there is anything he can do with regards to the garage not confirming what the actual problem was prior to fitting the radiator? He has not paid the garage for the radiator yet, he has left it with them until he can find a suitable place (and the money) to get the head gasket fixed? Thanks
  7. My partner paid £2500 via Switch to Roadcraft UK to learn to be a Driving Instructor, as he had been made redundant and thought it was an opportunity of getting back into work. Unfortunately before he had even started any lessons he received a letter from them saying that they had gone out of business and he had no money or assets that he could claim from, but if he paid by credit card he could claim from them. As my partner had paid by Switch, this was in effect the same as paying in cash. Roadcraft UK was not a limited company and there were two named directors. Does anyone know if there is anyway my partner can get any money from these two people? We don't know their home addresses, but I am sure they must be living somewhere probably on the proceeds of my partner and all the other people they let down by taking money under false pretences.

  9. I have been reading this site for a couple of months now and have just bit the bullet and sent a letter off to the Halifax to reclaim £1360.00 in Bank Charges. I wonder whether I may have delayed a little too long now after reading the article in the Daily Mail yesterday. Does anyone have any idea what the potential outcome will mean to those of us that are still in the process of making a claim? I have found the site to be an excellent forum and will donate a percentage of any money returned to me. Thanks everyone for the excellent support you are giving and a special thank you to all who were involved in it's creation.
