  2. Hi there...all staff in our dept have access to this pc and numerous searches are carried out daily. We are often asked to perform searches by colleagues who may be busy etc...
  3. Hi there.. thanks for the advise. I was really worried with being suspended they must be taking it serious. I am in the union and they are representing me. I am just going to stick to the facts i was asked and i did it as part of my job.
  4. Looks like she was covering her own back... so she could say that she never used the system. She has also been suspended for taking the information externally.
  5. as part of my duties at work we carry out credit searches at work using a PC that all members of my department have access to. One of my colleagues asked me to perform a search for her, this person would have had access to the same system she gave me the name and address and as part of my daily duties i carried out the search and passed her the information. All comes to all two weeks later the search was on her ex partner who she was having trouble with, her partner had found out that she had gained the information and has made an official complaint. My manager had made investigations and has concluded that the information was accessed and I have been named. I have now been suspended from wprk pending disciplinary and i have been advised that i may have committed gross misconduct and may be dismissed. I am really worried and dont know what stance to take, I have admitted doing the search but in a work capacity. The company are stating that I have misused company systems for personal use... any advise would be great.
