  1. Yep mine has just risen to 90 minutes travelling time......I dont know why he is pushing me so hard...Maybe there are targets to be made... I will do everything that is asked of me but i wont lie ... Hopefully i will get my operation date soon ...Because i really feel in a little limbo till then... In all honesty i thought as soon as i showed him the letter saying i was having surgery in the next few weeks he would back off till it was all over and done with... He also put me down to work any hours.. And asked me to think about changing my email address because in his opinion it wasnt professional...Funny that because everytime i have signed on whoever has dealt with me have had a little chuckle and said its a cracker!!
  2. I have done this and believe me if he hadnt have had such a serious look on his face i would have thought it was a wind up...The office work is 35 miles from me one way....A distance he says is do able as we do have a fairly efficient albiet expensive bus service.... The post office work when i reiterated i do not have a license,he said tp apply they may have other jobs on offer besides driving... I will do as im asked and just play along with what he says however ridiculas and try not to worry .
  3. I had my 13 week review yesterday....He looked at my contract and added office work and receptionist on there!! I have never done office work in my life...He then gave me two jobs to apply for. 70 mile round trip on 2 buses for both... Would mind the travelling but there are both minimum wage and it would cost me a fortune in fares... It stipulates that you should have, up to date computer skills, conversant with microsoft office ,spread sheets etc and able to type .. By then he has lost me as i have NONE of the required skills............. But he insists that i have to email them with my CV that says i have worked in Catering and Support work???? He says to blag it!! I then tell him that i have an operation pending ,early october when i shall be off JSA and claiming ESA for around 8 to 12 weeks depending on recovery time..... He then says Well dont tell them at any interview you may get?? I ask him what happens if i get the job and have to be on sick for 12 weeks...His reply was ...You cross that bridge when you come to it??? Surley they would sack me if i started work and a week later went of sick for an operation i knew i was having?? He then goes onto tell me that i should apply for xmas jobs at royal mail on monday when they are advertising... The are taking on oct through to jan ..... It says on the website Must have driving license with no more that 6 points on......... I dont have a License... And onec again this is the time frame i shall be off sick...With a foot operation so will hardly be in a position to be pounding the streets as a postman.. This so called review has worried the hell out of me......He is making me apply for jobs that are totally unsuitable,One of the posts i have to email says office junior...Im 54!! im going to look throughly silly:sad: I have emailed them both and attached CV because thats what ive been told to do...But i wonder what he is going to do at my next interview on the 6th of october....
  4. ESA it is then im going to be incapacitated for longer than 2 weeks .. I will ask when i sign on next how and when i have to change over...
  5. I am currantly om Jobseekers allowance and have been for the last 3 months... I am having a Scarf Bunionectomy on my right foot early October...Non weight bearing for two weeks ,Then light pottering and then it will be on average 8 to 12 weeks to be back to normal.... Then hopefully i will have the left foot done and repeat the process all over again... My normal work is waitressing but my podiatrist says it could be up to a year to go back to that kind of work.... I lost my last job because of the problems i have with my feet... Podiatrist tells me its a short procedure but long recovery What do i do about my benefit...I would rather stay on JSA so i dont disrupt anything, but im going to be off for too long i think.. Would i have to cliam for employment Support Allowance?? And how do i migrate from one benefit to another... I also suffer with anxiety and extreme low mood and so i have managed to blow this up out of all porportion as you do...!! I read so much about people on ESA and the problems they have im just a little worried they wont be sympathic to just what a painful procedure this is and how long it can take to recover..... Appreciate any advise x
  6. will do and thankyou..I will get my reading glasses on
  7. I dont understand...Do you mean i should add up all the interest and charges they have made and ask for this amount back?
  8. How can i get these people to freeze the charges they keep piling onto my account every month. I have recently lost my job and i am putting every penny i have over after my other bills to try and clear the debt..I never do and every month they change the payment date and whack £12 charge on me ... I will never be able to clear this debt...Even though i am paying £50 a month and have done for nearly a year i still owe them the same as i did when i started...Im just paying the charges... Soon i am going into hospital to have an operation and i would like to see if theses guys would freeze the charges and allow me to try and pay my debt off before i go in.One less worry?
  9. Hi yes i lodged a formal complaint this morning with the JCP and i have beside me a list of the questions to ask when they ring again...I dont think ignoring this will help i need to be more pro active....
  10. spoke too soon had a phone call at 8 pm A man this time asked for me by name.I asked who he worked for he said The national institude of research I asked if he was working for the DWP and he said emphaticly YES. I said that i had spoke to the DWP and they were not conducting any surveys nor would they over the phone! I aksed that he stop ringing me and hung up...The number was withheld... I doubt they will stop even though im aware they are not who they say they are.... Other than change my number that i understand Virgin will charge me the princely sum of £25 for,or unplug my phone,i dont see how i can make this stop........ I am hoping they will just tire of me not co-operating and leave me alone ;(
  11. Just Heather from the nattional insitute of economics and social research... This was in response to the email i sent them... She said she would leave me her mobile number so i could contact her to discuss further but only got 077 out and the message time was up... Still no phone calls.
  12. Funny thing is. Since the phone call yesterday from Heather at the insitude of economics protesting innocense i havnt had one phonecall???? a little odd dont you think?
  13. UPDATE..... I have just had a message left on my answering machine in reply to the email sent to The Insistute of Economics and Social Reserch and they have no knowledge of any such survey that they are currantly running, they do not know me and assure me this is not how they conduct surveys............ So someone and it is a call centre i can hear others talking in the background....Is using their name and the name of the DWP and radomly phoning people......... For what reason i ask myself??? and how did they know i was on a benefit....Its all very strange.... I spoke to my adviser at the jobcentre and she was very alarmed and i have written a statement.however i shall have to amend as i now know these calsl were not from who they said they were....... I have plugged the phone back in because now i want to talk to them and find out who they really are............Its a withheld number ...... very puzzled
  14. I shall be having more than a few words tomorrow at the jobcentre.... thanks for advise rebel11
  15. Wow thankyou for advise ..I am with Virgin and i did contact them but they only offered anonymous caller service which is extra every month which i can ill afford. Am about to email ofcom now You have given me a lot to work with thankyou again
  16. I hve been hounded ,to the point where i have pulled the plug out of my home phone and now paying for a service i cant use !! The company is question is The National Insitute for economic and social research working on behalf ,they tell me ,for the DWP.. When they rang they knew my name and that i was claiming Jobseekers and told me i had agreed to this survey via the jobcentre.... The questions are intrusive and very personal and i have told them i dont want to participate, as i was unaware the questions were so personal and in any event i only had their word for it they they were who they said they were.. They ring me 7 days a week and wont take no for an answer... I have emailed their offices and told them i will report their telephone harrassment if it continues....But who do i complain to???? I will be talking to my adviser at the jobcentre tomorrow and insisting they stop passing my phone number on... and i dare not put my plug back in the phone
  17. Thankyou for the advise. I told them lots of personal things last time and had i have had my wits about me i would have said this information bears no relevance to my JSA, but i didnt ... I suffer quite badly with Anxiety Disorder and this sort of thing is enough to give me a panic attack.... So i will write a letter of complaint and pass that by hand to the Jobcentre i attend in the week... Thankyou again ...This passing of information should not be allowed should it !
  18. Thankyou for that advise. I was made to feel like it was something i had to do as the caller became quite cross when i said i didnt want to take part...
  19. They have just rang and i asked for more details and they are the The National Institute of Economic and Social Research ??
  20. Well beside the usual name address etc One of the most personal ones were ...Did i ever feel depressed........Have i ever comtemplated suicide... are my parent still alive.do they live close by... and loads of others... I remember them saying it was a research survey on behalf of the DWP... I dont claim a sickness benefit only JSA
  21. I am currantly on JSA and some months ago i had a random call on my home phone ..The person on the other end said i had agreed to take part in a survey commissioned by the DWP...I dont remember having done this but agreed to answer the questions ... Some were really quite personal and it took ages nearly 30 mins...At the end of it the lady i spoke to ,said i would receive a £5 high street voucher for my time and that i would be contacted again... . Never received the voucher but i had a phonecall this morning form the same dwp research asking for me to speak to them again.... I said no it was sunday morning and actually i didnt want to take part any longer in their survey... The lady was quite abrupt and said but you have agreed.... I just said phone me later today because i cant be bothered with the hassle..... It is a withheld number .... Is this actually ligitermate do the dwp allow people to cold call you.... Its making me quite anxious.... I would welcome your views on this please....
  22. Thankyou ,you have explained wonderfully..I know have a clear idea of whats going on for a change:-)
  23. I have recently finished work and have a letter from the DWP saying i am entitled to Jobseekers allowance from 23rd May 2011... I signed on once when i made the claim and then again on the 1st june... I should have had a payment today but it wasnt in the bank ,this i believe is because i am getting a 4 week working tax credit run on ,for give or take a few pennies the same amout as JSA payment. I sign on again on the 15th june and the last payment from working tax run on will be the 17th june.. Will my JSA payments kick in automatically, will they know that that the 17th is my last payment from tax credits............ I get so confused:???: ellie
  24. I work as a table clearer/waitress at a VERY busy restaurant. My work is VERY heavy and i am pounding the concrete floor for 5 to 8 hours a day 5 days a week....I suffer with Plantar fasciitis/and bunions on both feet and i have just been diagnosed with cervical spondylosis with numbness in my arms and vertigo (caused by the spondylosis) and osteoarthritis in my kness, ankles, big toe..Just about everywhere i have a joint..This isnt a sudden thing i have had problems for many years and i am now in my 50s and the pain and inability to do all the things i used to do has increased yearly... I manage to do my work at a cost.... I am on constant medication for pain and after a extra long shift i am in tears....... I worry i have another 11 years of work before i can retire and i dont think my body can cope with that as my job is such heavy work and im on my feet all day... I do have good days where the pain is less severe and for that i am grateful and i dont want to come across as a winger...I never take sick days just more painkillers.......My Gp had referred me to the local hospital for physio and says that the meds i am taking is all they can give as it is all general wear and tear (the joys of getting older). My physio says that i am aggravating the problems i have because of the work i do...When i have a few days off my symptoms settle down and become bearable.. I love my work but it has become more and more difficult overthe years....I work on 3 month contacts 2 over the year.......If i left because of the problems i have would i get any benefits??... My company dosnt pay sick pay..Would i get jsa and explain i can only work light duties........I read all the problems have on ESA and that terrifies me!!!Its all so confusing so i just continue to work and hope for good days.... . i would appeciate any advise........
  25. Thankyou for your reply...My grand daughter is 11.I meet her en route.... She could walk home on her own but having some problems with her behaviour and knowing where she is after school is a my way of keeping a firm hold on her..(if thats possible) I have only worked on this contract for around 4 months..But worked for the company before as a weekend worker.I am still on a 3 month probation period:(I thought about making up the hours and coming in on an earlier bus but again the same applies.... One an hour so i arrive at work on time....I am in the restaurant trade and i fear the manager will argue that i am asking to leave during the lunchtime rush hour...In fairness by 3 it is winding down but that varies from day to day....... All i can do is ask and if i am told no then maybe i should look for another job !
