  1. funny this should come back after all these months when I finally made the complaint I was offered £50 compensation for all my problems but what surprise it was never forthcoming I changed the car as was already intended prior to the crash soon as my car was returned didn't really like what I bought So in order to beat the vat rise next month i was looking a new cars this week To my dismay the salesman said that car you passed in was it hit up the back so said yes seems they has been going to contact me about warranty but forgot after 4 month in Solus the paintwork bubbled soon after I passed it in My husband thought it was all handled very well but he wasn't the one bawling down the phone every day so the insurance was renewed with aviva again against my better judgement but dismayed at should I be unfortunate enough to have another accident I just dread the thought of Solus Bournemouth again Just pleased I got rid of the car before I had more months of aggro hire cars and the rest while it was resprayed again
  2. ok the car is finished at last thanks for any help
  3. This forum is monitored by an Aviva Customer Relations Manager so where is he another day gone by when Aviva complaints dept is supposed to ring me with news on the situation but hasn't
  4. about 20 years back had an accident and was sent to a well known one in my area who was on a retainer I wanted to go to a local one I had taken advice from a little one man band Anyway went to the appointed one who gave the job to a newly qualified solicitor who was an exnurse which I didn't think qualified her for the job anyway first thing everyone said was well easiest if you plead guilty which i wasn't willing to do after kicking up and saying not satisifed was allowed to go to the one of my choice who did a brilliant job and won the case which kind of proved the point that these guys can be so smug on their retainers they couldn't really give a toss about the client
  5. 2nd February I had an accident and my car was collected by Solus at Bournemouth the next morning, Very efficient I thought at the time The nearside airbags blew but the rest of the car didn't look too bad so I thought. I spent the next 3 weeks chasing hire cars cos Solus didn't have one now I can see why but I did get an enterprise car that had to be extended every 3 days. After 3 weeks I was swapped to a Solus car told my car would be ready 25th of March long time I thought but ok one of those things Time came was given regular updates and the car would be ready on time until the 25th march came and they found a faulty seat belt which had to be returned and wait for new one. I was beginning to think somebody wasn't telling me something about the car and still think this. When saying I was going to make a complaint to aviva I was told that wouldn't do me any good well they are right about that so heading towards mid april the car was returned The calibration was in km not mph even though a guy drove it back to me and didn't even notice. Jumped in the next morning and as I headed for the speed camera thought why is this car doing 45 when it felt like I was doing 25 then realised that the calibration was wrong there was a huge score nearside front near the base that wasn't there when it went in The offside door had paint or something up the inside and the front seat damaged when the bags blew had the support flopping about a big safety issue in an accident so the car was returned to Solus within 2 days and is still residing there now 4 weeks on it still needs another new seat I am being fobbed off with excuses all the time to say I just a tiny bit uptight would be an understatement There complaints department is no better just patronising. I am told they have repaired the damage they did while in their garage I would not recommend Solus to anyone and although i was always happy with Commercial Union / Norwich Union for many years the new regime seems to leave a lot to be desired and again I would be hard pushed to recommended to anyone I was hoping to sell the car in March but its now mid May and no sign of early return in the mean time the car is 3 months older which means i lose more on part exchange and gather an increase in vat could be on the way next month so if the car is not sorted soon I will lose again
