yeah you can add....yeah i went to court - it was over an unpaid hotel room that my friends hired after our graduation - it was under my name even though i never went to the party - but i had to pay, i got taken to court and i said i would pay.

(Edit) This is the letter they sent me! How can i speak to the magistrates to get my say / set up a payment plan??

I can't scan it as the work one is broken... but it says MARSTON GROUP HAVE COURT AUTHORITY TO SEIZE YOUR GOODS AND TO USE THE SERVICES OF A LOCKSMITH TO GAIN ENTRY TO THE PREMISES EVEN WHEN UNOCCUPIED. THESE CHARGES WILL BE ADDED ON. i didn't know they could do this? is it scare tactics? all i want to do is do a payment plan with them i live in a house share now, with my girlfriend. haven't lived at my parents place for almost 2 years.

Hiya, No i checked...i paid 30 pounds off before i went travelling and forgot about it... if i keep on at them, can they do a repayment plan? their letter said they can take my stuff and even if nobodys at home they can get a locksmith and gain entry.... really worried...

Hiya Yes, it was for about 260 pounds - i was sure it was taken care of before i went travelling, but it's my fault i should have been so sure. it's now 543 pounds. how nice of them. they just say we cannot do a plan, we want it all in 1 go...not sure what to do...

I had a letter through my door from a company called Marstons Group, and they say it's for a fine from 5 years ago with a court for an unpaid hotel room after a graduation party - i had moved, and honestly thought it had all been paid. Anyway - they want 545 pounds and i called them and told them i no longer live with my parents ( which i do not) and can i make a payment plan as i cannot pay all at once. they said no. i told them i wanted to settle it, what difference does it make? they will still get their money. no again tney said, we want it all at once, we can't help you etc. I'm at a loss of what to do next. shall i call again tomorrow? I don't see why they are being so un co operative. it's not like everyone can just come up with money like that. thanks for your advice / opinion.

Hiya Basicaly i have had 2 letters from these guys - saying i oew 500 pounds from a court ( i have no idea what its for) and they will attend my address to remove goods at action and even if the house is emplty, they can get locksmiths to gain entry... I mean i havent spoken to them - i moved out of home 2 years ago and my parents told them they didn't know where i had moved to ( even though they do) But whats my best plan of action? i can't pay the full amount but could do in instalments - but reading horror stories they always say no - which seems crazy,as the person is TRYING to pay. Anyway - should i call / write and ask them? and can they really turn up and gain entry with a locksmith etc? thanks so much.

Hi all I am new to this site and always seems full of good advice. Soo the time has come where i need some of my own if you'll be kind enough to help. To put it into words, i came home last month to find my " girlfriend" had taken everything and left - she left a note to say she had been seeing someone else and i was a fool etc- she took my tv and our savings and left. anyway... Before, about 2 weeks ago, she had told me it was her mothers birthday and she needed some money - i was away with work but she pursuaded me ( stupidly i know ) to take out 3 payday loans and she promised she would pay back when she got paid. well obviously now that's not gonna happen. it was with pounds till payday lending stream money bridge or something like that. 200 pounds on each. Anyway, i have tried to talk to these people and explain and say i can offer 20 pounds each per month. but they won't listen. they keep saying they can take my wages and come to my house etc, but are these empty threats? I don't mind it going to a collection agency as they maybe more willing but i'm worried as to what these companies are saying...can they really contact my payroll department? Are they for real with these threats? am i just better off hoping it goes to a collection agency? thanks so much oh, by the way, the bank account the money was paid into and they have details for etc has now been closed down. if that's any good. :-?
