Hi T&G, Idem are part of the Paragon Group who are based at Earlswood Court(Earlswood Solicitors..mmmmmmmmm!)Highlands Road,Shirley,Solihull. They will be the same people who sent out the threat-o-grams and just want you to believe they have escalated higher by giving it to the cleaner!! Same people,same company...ex-employees of Mackie D's from near bye..... Others might advise on what todo but i would ignore. -
Congrats to Donkey,Coledog and all who brought HFO and company to the attention of the OFT etc.:clap2: Complaining works eventually.

The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has refused to renew the consumer credit licences of three debt businesses, including Roxburghe. Debt purchaser HFO Capital and two associated debt collection agencies, HFO Services Limited and Roxburghe (UK) Limited, have been declared “unfit” by the OFT and will not have their licences renewed. Hi Coleman, The NoA are letters telling you they have purchased the debt and now you owe them the balances and not Halifax or Lloyds. Debt Managers is a debt collection company who have been given the task of getting the money from you. Remember as DX says they have no legal powers no matter what they threaten you with. It would be a good idea to post up the history and detail of the debts if you want advice. -
Hi, Had several phone calls from severn trent now over the last couple of days. No problem as such but they are using private/witheld numbers! Question is are they allowed todo this as i thought no company was allowed to block their numbers. The reason they are phoning is they want me to pay the water bill but i won't as i have split it into 12 monthly installments and they don't like it even though i'm upto date and they are now threatening court action which i have said to them go ahead then...idiots inc.

Hi SP, Yep i agree. You can imagine my response to her. The last time we spoke about her work we didn't speak for about a month afterwards, we probably won't speak for 2 months this time...lol.

Hi, Daughter unfortunately works for the Worlds Local Bank, in collections, and they have been told today that Christmas is not an excuse not to collect and have been given extra incentives(cash bonus's) too double their collection ratio's during the festive period because, quote"people have money at Christmas". Fortunately i don't owe anything to these but those of you who do, be aware.

Ok thanks for all the advice. So if they send a letter to JBW and Council with proof of residence then that would suffice? They are a single parent with kids,live in council accomodation,don't live in the Birmingham City Council district and have sent previous letters to JBW stating such facts but have been ignored. Would it be worthwile sending a letter to council aswell?

Hi All, Helping a friend out. They have been visited by the above company while at work letter put through door. They have written to them explaining they have the wrong address but have ignored. The name on the letter is asian and they are white british. Would upload letter but not enough memory. What can be done.

All, You should only be liable to bankruptcy on secured debts i.e property,mortgages etc and any unsecured loans,credit cards,store cards should stay unsecured.Thats why you pay a higher interest rate on unsecured loans etc and any creditor should not be allowed to secure it by charging order or make you bankrupt etc....the law needs to be changed and ....NOW!!!
