  1. I had this back in October 2010, as you can see in the previous posts I came on here asking for advice. I followeded the advice given and ignored all letters from them, after about 7 letters they gave up. I didn't pay them a penny. The letters do get very threatening and also say that the next letter you'll get will be a courts summonds. Needless to say this never came. *BUT* they don't give up easily - they'll bother you with these letters for at least 6 months.
  2. Hi folks, Does anyone know if an Australian speeding ticket can be enforcable in the UK? I've hired a car and got flashed by a camera. Doing about 130kph in a 100 zone. Now I know the rental company can charge my credit card with an admin fee in suplying my details to the police - so I'm going to cancel my credit card to prevent that. Any advice? Cheers guys.
  3. I'm in exactly the same boat. I'd hope they would have given up but it seems the more people who refuse to pay the more they are willing to keep at it trying to get money from you. I suspect the debt collection agency is on a commission only basis, so it won't be costing Athena anything else. My understanding is the only letter to take seriously is a court summons. Anything else should just be ignored. Though this is can be a bit trying when they simply won't let it drop.
  4. Hey Chelsy, I'm in exactly the same boat, I over stayed at a Lidl in April and got 3 demands - then all went quiet for a couple of months. Then yesterday I got exactly the same letter as you demanding £115. Carry on ignoring I guess and see if it goes anywhere.
  5. Hi guys, has anyone actually been taken to court by this company. I note the posts on here are a few months old now. Did the debt collection agency just "go away"? Appologies for dragging up an old thread but I've just got one of these tickets. Thanks in advance.
