  1. Have just recovered the last email they sent to me if this helps "Dear Mr XXXXXXX Re: CPXXXXXX issued at KXXXXXn Station SP on 25 January 2012 to vehicle with registration mark XXXXXXX Thank you for your further correspondence regarding the above Parking Contravention Charge Notice (PCCN) issued at our KXXXXXn Station SP car park. As you are aware the parking contravention charge notice was issued to your vehicle, as the parking attendant observed and recorded that the vehicle was parked in a bay without a valid payment for parking. I do understand the points you have raised, however there is very little that I can add. The terms and conditions of this car park are clearly situated at the front of house and it is vital that all customers comply by these at all times. Please be advised, we do not refund payments for parking, the payment that you have made is for the period you have parked your vehicle. Furthermore, it is the customers responsibility to ensure they allow themselves enough time to make payment for parking. I have again considered your challenge carefully and the decision remains the same. The amount of £50.00 must now be paid within 14 days from 21 March 2012 in order to conclude this matter." Have sent a furhter email to then within the 14 days on their appeal system Has the ususal blurb about how to pay and what happens if dont blah blah blah after the above. Cheers
  2. I Parked at my local station car-park which I do infrequently maybe 3-4 times a month and more often then not use the mobile phone payment option. On this particular day I forgot to pay as I left he car as mind was elsewhere, I remembered once I got to work about 60 mins later but well before the cheap payment time threshold of 9.30. I still have the text receipt of payment. On return to car that evening I had been issued a ticket. I have appealed and have had 2 replies from them both still demanding payment even though they admit that I have paid although late and not one mention of even offering to repay the daily charge. So they want to keep my money and fine me, the comment that got me really riled in their last email was as follows "Please be advised, we do not refund payments for parking, the payment that you have made is for the period you have parked your vehicle". Any advice here would be much appreciated. Cheers
  3. Cheers, the MBNA/Link/Elmwood is all one default .... Originally with MBNA who sold it to Link who got Elmwood to make an offer but that is being handled as well
  4. I have checked my credit report and there is no mention of Metropolitan Collection Services, I have a default with MBNA/Link Financial/Elmwood and small arrears with lloyds TSB no problems with HSBC at all or any oither credit provider
  5. Hi hope this is in the right forum. I have been made an offer from HSBC re PPI on a loan but I have a nagging doubt over some of the wording if anyone can shed any light on this I would be most greatful. On the covering letter which I would assume to be fairly standard for most of the part however the paragraph in question reads as follows...... "To ensure that this matter has not financially disadvantaged you, I propose to offer the amount of £100.00 which will be used to reduce the outstanding debt held with HSBC. Additionally a sum of £xxxx.xx will be paid to your account. This figure will efectively return the premiums you have paid." It goes on to talk about the included interest and any tax implications. Now i have no known outstanding debt with HSBC which HSBC have confirmed with me. The amount offered is acceptable by me and I was willing to complete my bank details to have the funds credited, however on the offer document which I have to sign and return the above information reads slightly differently and worringly mentions Metropolitan Collection Services (HSBC's in house debt collectors). Th e paragraph reads....... "I accepts the offer of £100.00 to be paid to HSBC and £xxxx.xx to be paid to my bank account in full and final settlement of my complaint against HSBC Bank plc (or any of its subsidiaries) in respect of xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx and understand that this amount will be used to reduce my outstading debt with HSBC" again I have no known debt with HSBC. The Acceptance of Offer then lists the account details of Metrpolitan Collection Services with sort code account number and customer reference none of which have anything to do with me, it then asks for my bank details. My question is are HSBC using MCS to make these payments, does anyone on here who has received settlement from HSBC PPI claims had their funds paid by MCS are the people handling these complaints just assuming that i still have the loan running, which i dont as it was repaid early and finally can anyone give me an idea of how long they take to actually pay you from acceptance of their offer as would be great to get this money before christmas. Cheers Stephen

  9. Hi this is my first post hopefully someone may have some advice for me . I had an MBNA credit card on which I defaulted approx mid 2007. From early 2008 was dealing with Link from their London office. My finances were in a real mess and marriage was breaking up. Link appeared sympathetic as house was up for sale and still is, they said they were happy to wait un til the sale for payment, I had offered to make monthly payments which my other creditors had agreed to. Contact slowed and for most of 2009 virtually ceased. Beginning this year started recieving phone calls from their Welsh call/centre office, they never stated they were link but as left number/voicemail on my mobile was able to google the number. They have'nt written to my home address for nearly 2 years. This week i receive a letter from "Elmwood Park" . i have enclosed a scan hope it comes out ok. they are offering me 25% discount on the debt. i am not neccesarily to DK the debt but if anyone has any advice as to wether this show they are desperate could/should I go in with a lower offer. Is what they are doing correct and legal. I have had nothing in writting from Link in over 2 years. Cheers
